I know that Weds night, I'm going to the Olreans (since they are open all night and I don't land till after 7:30 pm) to put in my bets for Thursday . In the past March madness visits, I've noticed that they have "Half point" paraay crds, "ties win" parlay cards and "teasar " parlay cards. I imagine ( and I could be wrong) that you can place these same bets over the counter by just telling the bookie ( guy taking bets at the sportsbook) what you want. What, if anything, is the advanctage of using the "cards" for these bets??

    T- 3 days till VEGAS!!!!

Someone who bets these can confirm but I believe the advantage of betting the cards is taking advantage of stale lines.

I'm no expert on these but you need to make a certain number of bets on the cards to win a certain payback. Kind of like Keno. In other words (making up numbers), if you get 3 right, you win 2:1, If you get 4 right, you win 3 to 1. If you get 5 right, you win 7 to 1. 6 right, 10 to 1. Something like that. The point spreads are much more generous than a straight up bet. Example, if UK is a 10 point favorite, you'll get 15 points if you pick the dog and only give 5 points if you pick the favorite. You look at the spreads and think you can't lose.

There is no advantage. They may very well have these for the tourney but I don't think so. The cards your talking about are Football cards. They now take all bad lines and injuries off the card. You can get around this sometimes by getting them in early. I think what they have for basketball is a daily parlary card and correlating sheet at Stations and Coast. Like I said maybe they do this for the tourney though. Only two advantages I can see are these. $2 minimum instead of $5. Ability to bet up to 15 games instead of 8 at the window.

They'll do parlay cards for the NCAA tourney. Lines will be where they were when the card was printed, so just be cautious if any lines have moved significantly.

I'm just going by NFL cards. I don't know if they are the same for March madness. For 1/2 point cards they will take a line, let's say it's 4, and then the favorite is -3.5 and the under dog is +4.5. For teaser cards they give you a 6 point bonus on the spread. +4 is now +10, -4 is now +2. Ties win mean you win that game if you tie. The benifits of these cards are smaller bets, usually as low as $2. If you bet normally at the window you have the minimum that they set. Usually $5 or $10. The odds will not be as good with the cards. If you want the best payouts go to the window and say you want a parlay and give the writer the numbers. If a game line moves a lot, say a player gets I'll before or something crazy they will not let you mark the card for that game. For NFL they didn't have the cards out until early morning for some. The teaser cards were out cause you could throw in ncaa football.

Interesting that ties win. They usually lose on a teaser. I have played some teasers where pushing a line pushes the entire bet though.

Pushes on a parlay usually drop the parlay down to a lower payout. So, a three team parlay with a line pushed gets knocked down to a two team parlay, assuming the other lines are winners.

The 'ties win' is not a teaser card, same points as the regular card but w/o the hook. They pay out lower though 4 for 4 pays 10 for 1, while the regular card that 12 for 1,
    5 of 5 pays 20/22 6of6 interestingly pays the same 40..7of7 pays 70/85..
And these cards also pay lower than a regular parlay...note the 10 for 1 as opposed to 10 to 1.

Here's the pay odds from William Hill and Boyd Gaming. William Hill pays better so I try to bet there.

As cheap entertainment I get several parlay tickets with 4 to 6 teams on each, $5-$20 per ticket.

It makes the games more exciting after the 3rd and fourth legs win.

Sam's and Will Hill parlay pays (1).jpg

They only time I won on a parley card is when I did a George Costanza bet: On a second card (a super-parley with expanded spreads) I did the exact opposite of what I thought would happen on the first card. The 'opposite' card won.

I actually like these cards as you can bet across NFL and college for football. The teaser's are my favorite and several times I have done ok with like 10/10 but many times 9/10 or 8/10 is more like it. But it is cheap fun and if you can't pick them with the exaggerated spreads (+6 for example) then what chance do I have at the opening line picking?....But yes, the payout is not what you would get for a 4 team parlay by any means.
They usually come out on Thursday for Boyd and yes they will alter some if something catastrophic occurs prior to game day (Peyton gets a cold..horrors!!)....

Can you do like a 3 or 4 card parlay with nba games and include Mayweather fight?

I'm not sure they have parlay cards for nba and the fight, I've only seen them for NFL and March Madness. I know you used to be able to parlay a game with a fight. I once parlayed some football games with a fight. With the fight, and the derby some places might be doing some cool props and parlays. Westgate seems to offer the most creative bets lately.
