    My Trip Report

I spent 2 1/2 days at Belterra, one if the southern Indiana riverboats. It was a bit of a grind fest between Ultimate Texas Hold'em and Crazy 4 Poker, with a couple of slots thrown in. The big hit on UTH was 4OAK on the board. Every one got paid for it. Also flopped a full house. On Crazy 4. I Had 2 4-card straight flushes, a full house, many 3OAKs, straights and flushes with some long slow bleeds between them. Plus a $200 hit on the Game of Thrones slot. Walked out of there with a $745 profit. Not bad considering I was $200 down when I went to bed the first night.

The sad twist happened on day 2 when an older lady tried to use the down escalator with her walker and tumbled down to the bottom. Supposedly just hurt a knee. Why she didn't use one of the 2 elevators, I don't know.

Those boats must be dangerous! The last time we were at Horseshoe in Southern Indiana, 3 older ladies were stuck between floors on the elevators - they had a huge curtain up in front of the open elevator doors so you couldn't see what was happening behind them.

Grinding out a nice profit makes for a good trip - congrats!

Too bad about the lady - lucky nothing too serious happened.

I ave never seen any elevator problems at Belterra, other than being slow (they are hydraulic). The hotel elevators are fast.

When I was leaving, I saw an Audi R8 in the valet drop off area. That is a $100K car ($200K if it has a V10 engine). Saw a Bentley parked there a couple of years ago. There are some serious high rollers that frequent that place on weekends.

Lol - and I'm driving a rusty 1998 Chevy Blazer with 200,000 miles on it so I could get our daughter through college.

    Great little report, wormhole! Congrats!

Sorry to hear about that lady.
I knew this was a non-Vegas report because the escalator was working!

    Thanks for sharing!

Yeah the true riverboat format isn't the best for those with limited mobility. Many floors and narrow stairwells. I'm glad all St. Louis area casinos on the missouri side have converted to barges. I think Alton, IL is the only "boat" left.

    Nice win wormhole!

    Thanks.

Belterra is not the smallest boat in southern Indiana. Its stairwells are wide, but the aisles can be tight for those who have to use scooters or wheelchairs to get around. I know of 2 cases on 2 different boats where someone got hit and hurt by careless use (as in going to fast) of the scooters.

I was talking to an older friend yesterday who was at the next riverboat upriver (at the same I was at Belterra) with a seniors group. The group leader, a guy, did the same thing. He got tired of waiting for the slow elevator and took his walker onto the escalator, which was right next to the elevator. Tumbled down with scraped up face and arms.
