Airfare for last minute travel from my town was $1100 with two days notice on Delta last weekend.

Priceline accepted by $200 RT bid, flights were both at 1pm, arriving Sat. night and leaving Monday.

I had no problems with seats at all.

    Unbelievable savings.

Then I got two nights at the Wynn for $55.

Nice. You can certainly get some good deals at the last minute if you don't mind waiting. I wish I could do that.

You are very fortunate, glad it worked out for you. There are horror stories about folks using PL "name your own price" for weekend getaway airfare. You could have been on the last flight out on a Friday and the first flight back on Monday. I use PL for hotels all the time and never had a problem.

I've used PL once for a hotel in Crystal City, VA. It worked out great. There are a couple of websites out there where you can find out which hotels PL uses in each category as well as the amount others have used to successfully bid.

with all due respect i find the 55 $ wynn deal hard to belive.

ive been doing the the vegas section on bidding for travel for years helping out and there has never has been a 55$ wynn bid won especialy for a weekend.

the cheapest is the vdara at around 70$ and then aria around 70-80 depending on regular rates.

Yeah $55 for Wynn is incredible. I guess for kicks I can bid that for my May trip, it's a Sun-Thur 5 nighter. I would say my chances will be zero.

Yeah I did see that $89 winning Wynn bid. I'm already booked for a nice suite at Palms Place for about $100 but I might take a shot at Wynn for $90 or so and see what happens. Perhaps I should wait, I'm not going until May 4-9. It looks like the 5 star options in that area are Palazzo, Venetian and Wynn with Wynn being the "cheapest".

On Pinceline Express I'm seeing $194 for Strip North during my dates and $98 for Strip Vacinity North (most likely Trump). For Strip Vacinity South I'm also seeing $98, that would be for Cosmo, Aria or Vdara but I don't really care for Aria.

89 is not unusual for priceline wynn in a slow time, 55 is imposible basicaly

ive been doing the bidding for travel board for years i belive over ten if not longer helped run the vegas section for a year or 2 ,
i have my own section on it now.

that why i find what he got very hard to belive

and the flights dont make sense either
