Anybody know why the hotel rates spiked considerably for Sept 11 & 12? I, fortunately, got my room for cheap but was just looking and for those two dates now its $177 with my card($222 without) at Flamingo. Same thing goes with Ballys and Harrahs.

Mexican Independence Day would be my best guess. It's the Wednesday of that next week.

Also have a decent sized convention (45-50K) September 9-11.

It is the opening weekend of the NFL season as well. I have reservations for Labor Day weekend the week prior for the first weekend of the college football season.
