    My Trip Report

Well, I did not plan on a vegas trip this month. My bf and I were just in Vegas for a week in September. He planned on going for 10 days alone for a big football bet. He found out that without me his room at Bally's for 10 days would be close to $1500 with resort (extortion) fees. With me going, $450 total. So, he is paying for my plane ticket. I dropped him at the airport today, and I leave on Tuesday...or so I thought.

    retirement bet trip

So the bf has a plan to make a big rollover bet. $5000 on a football game, win, rollover, rinse and repeat. He wants to retire, like yesterday. He has had this idea for a while. We went to Vegas in September and had a lousy trip. Three days in, I got a phone call from home that my 97 year old grandfather had a bad fall down a flight of stairs and was in ICU. This was a flashback to a trip two years ago where my uncle, (same side of family) had died while I was in Vegas. My grandfather died five days in on this trip. The rest of the trip was of course ruined, and I really did not gamble too much and when I did I lost horribly. Caesars was I am sure not pleased with my play of a 5 night comp. I was not looking forward to a back to back trip with no savings at all earmarked for Vegas.:cry::cry:

    Chicago Layover

Of course the cheapest flight for me had a layover at Chicago Midway on Tuesday through Southwest. All week I have been hearing about all of the problems they have been having with weather and crazy suicidal arsonists. I got home from the airport today and went online to see if the bf's plane landed on time. I happened to click on the "chicago sucks to fly out of" link at the top of the page. Well now!!! I can for free change my flight!!! And the best part is...my work did not schedule me for Monday, so I am leaving on Monday on the non-stop flight for the same price. SCORE!!!:eek::eek::eek:

God I love you Wizard of Oz

Two years ago, we were going to Vegas the same basic week. I was bummed because my bankroll was not where I wanted it to be then either. I had some free play at the local casino and being the degenerate that I am, stopped on my way to the airport. I hit for $3600 on the Wizard of Oz machine on a bonus. Well, I went to the same place and got on the same machine, two years later during the same week. I started off playing 40 cents a spin, as I only had $55 in freeplay. I burned thru it slowly, but put in a few twenty's as well. Hit a few bonuses and upped my bet to $2 a spin. I was up and down, and up and down. We eventually hit a bonus for 3 wild reels and I was at a 40x multiplier at a $2 bet. I looked at the time. Holy crap! I had been on this same machine for 11 hours and was up to $2479. I started getting nervous and cashed out at $2200. (No tax due to no total hit over $1200! YAY) The trip is saved again thanks to Oz!!! I called the boyfriend on my way home to tell on myself and to tell him to confiscate my winnings as soon as I walked in the door, and hold it for the trip.

I hope to have more winning to come after the trip!

So let me get this straight...you were on a "penny" slot machine for about 11 hours and was up about $2200 when you finished? I don't want even think about the odds of that... But my biggest slot hit in Tunica was a "Wizard of Oz" machine...the only time I think I won on that machine to be honest...

It is one of those community ones with bonus multipliers. You can either hit big or loose big. I did get up at. 6 am when they changed out the cash box and went to pee. Lol. Honestly I did not even realize I was there that long. I had played it from $1700 to about $650 when I hit that big bonus and a few smaller ones. That is when I looked at the time and got the heck out.

Will be down there on Thursday. We love heading to the local either the week before we go or on the way to the airport. We pop in with $40 each - if we win, we win, if not, oh well. Not meant to be there a long time, just to see if we can get a little extra spending money for our trip to Vegas.
