So looks like we are renting a car this time around and our first night is staying at the Golden Nugget. We are landing at about 5:00pm (with Alliegant) and don't want to waste time right away.

We are looking to pick up a few essentials including (cheap) champagne, plastic cups and orange juice - maybe a cigar.

There is a Walgreens by the GN, but is there a better plan? Since we have the car should we just stop on the way? Where?

My advice (then balance it with others' opinions):

    1. Time is valuable when you land in Las Vegas! Don't waste it trying to save $1.87 off the bill by seeking out a discount place that will take you out of the way.

    2. Go right to GN, valet & check in.

    3. Walk out the Fremont Street entrance to GN. There is an ABC store almost next door! They have everything you need.

    4. Drag your goodies upstairs & enjoy.

    5. Find out you need more in terms of toiletries, etc? No problem. There is a large Walgreens on the corner of Fremont & 4th St. Open 24/7. Safe 2-3 block walk.

    Have a fun trip!!

Don't forget your $50 free play if you show your Allegiant Boarding Pass to the desk within 24 hours of your flight. Not at GN, it might have been at the D. I read it in their in-flight magazine last week on my flight.

Maybe someone else here knows the deal.

Also, another vote for the ABC Store right there at the GN.

When I pull up an online map it is showing ABC where the Wallgreens is noted to be.

Yes! Robert, I love the way you think. And couldn't agree more. Saving time in Vegas is key. Just get to the casino and get started.

You're going to win at gambling anyway, so you'll make it all up.
