    Hi all,

My wife and I will be staying at the Plaza (thanks Curt) for a couple of weeks in September (we arrive in the 12th - can't wait).

We don't like driving and plan to pretty much spend the whole of our holiday downtown. However, we like to play pool so wondered if there were any tables in or around down town?

Also, I am a keen Arsenal fan and they will be playing a fair number of games while we are in Vegas, is there anywhere downtown that shows Premier League / Champions League matches?

    Thanks

    Rotweiler aka Andy :)

Also, I forgot to mention I am a cheese head, anybody recommend a good place to watch Packers / NFL games downtown?

    Thanks

    Andy

You might want to check out Backstage Bar and Billiards (Fremont East). No clue about futbol.

Backstage Bat and Billiards will take care of your pool needs.

I'm also a huge soccer fan, and have had issues finding games downtown, especially European games with the super early start time in the Pacific Time Zone. The best place I can think of is the Fremont Sportsbook, as they have one of the better downtown sports books and open the earliest. Someone at that bar should be there to flip a tv to NBC or NBCSN for you. I'm also a little partial to the (small) setup at The D. I just have no clue if someone will be there at that time to make sure that channel is turned on.

If you're in town for the Tottenham match, you might find it difficult to get someone to tune the TV to it. It's the late Saturday game and will be going up against NCAA football.

    Go Gunners!

Failing that, somewhere like McMullens Pub (next to The Orleans) is very football (soccer) friendly and would definitely be showing it.

I think the plaza has NBC sports.
I know that binions does as they put on a game for me in march.
the biggest problem you might have if its a 3pm sat kick off as only one gets shown - the rest are streaming only. However the big clubs (and arsenal for some reason) tend not to get 3pm KO's!!

Late Saturday games are starting to clash with the college football so it could be a bit tricky... you might have to get the previous game on and ask them to keep it on that chanel.

Champions league is normally on ESPN channels but its a bit hit and miss as to what games are being shown.

book mark this http://www.livesoccertv.com/schedules/ and check a couple of days before the game. the Beinsports is a bit rare here but the plaza has it (I even saw saw of the 6 nations on that back in March!). at least then you'll know what channel you need to find

If the place has DirecTV you can watch all the games. Channels 491-495 carry the Saturday matches not on NBC/NBCSN.

We have found that most sports books will put the game we are interested in on at least one TV for us if the have access to it.

Ask the day before, and they will check it out for you.
