I've stayed at the Flamingo and like the pool there, but looking at the MC for next summer - possibly.

What's the pool scene like at Monte Carlo?

MC has a lazy river. We were there a few years ago Labor Day Weekend, it was absolutely packed. The lifeguards were randomly blowing their whistle and yelling at patrons of the lazy river if you held you drink over the water while sipping. It was really annoying, no consistency.

I used to have a pic of a girl that kept wearing string bikinis down to the pool, they would let her hang out till someone complained then eject her. She would go to her room and change and come back down. We saw this repeated over and over. Its not an adult only pool like Flamingo, so its not as wild.

How was your last trip Donnie?

Monte Carlo, in general, is REALLY underrated. They have a cool pool, but it's not the Flamingo. I haven't found a pool in Vegas that has the energy the Flamingo has. I can stay at other places, but I choose not to. One thing I will say, don't go to the Luxor pool, it's ZERO fun.

If you go over a holiday or over the summer there will be kids galore....we were there over the summer (last part of June into July), little kids everywhere...looked like a daycare center....:rolleyes2:

Monte Carlo has a wave pool, lazy river, and regular pool. Love hanging out in the lazy river. All in all, it's one of the better pools at the mid-level properties in my opinion.

Ben, we just returned from Hotel32 and spent some time at the pool. It's still open

Flamingo pool is fantastic. The rest of the property is not. IMHO.

I've stayed at the Flamingo a number of times...so I am familiar with what the rest of the property offers.

It seems like a bunch of younger people stay at MC and I'm wondering 'why?', as I might want to give it a try.

Is the pool that great...apparently not as good as Flamingo. Are the rooms good? Again, sounds like they are not.

Many people from our "Vegas group" of friends, including my wife and all, love the Monte Carlo. We are all in our late 20s and early 30s. We've stayed here 4 out of the last 5 trips. Rooms are nice (typically stay in a Monoco suite), pool is great, casino is good, plenty of reasonable dining options, and a great location. Overall its the best value in our opinions. But if you are used to the Bellagios, Wynns, and Arias out there, it likely won't be for you.

I'm used to Villa Roma, Hilton and for the last 4 trips the Flamingo.
