If you are staying at one hotel and you have a friend staying at another hotel, can you all get into the pool area there as long as 1 has an active room key or does everyone have to have room keys?

1 is probably enough but your friend can get an extra key...

You will be fine, just walk in together. And worse case your friend or you can just ask for an extra key.

I think it depends on which pool you are asking about. some pools swipe all guests upon entry which might mean that everyone in the party might need a key card. I think MB swipes keycards though a scanner at the entry area to make sure that the guest is actively staying at the hotel (haven't been to the pool this year so not sure if that is still the case). I think if you have cabana service you might also get away with it (no key cards for all guests).

I know that there are many pools which allow friends entry if one is a hotel guest. I had that happen at the MGM pool before.

I think the majority of pools will be okay allowing a friend in but no guarantee all pools have that policy. I just wanted to warn you just in case you were thinking of the MB pool.
