Because we are inherently thrifty and after we look at room service prices, in 41 years of traveling, we have never ordered room service. What about you?

I love room service, but my husband feels the way you do. He's gotten better, but there's a reason I travel without him. :haha:

I will admit that breakfast prices are hard on me. I am not a big breakfast eater, but I have to have protein and coffee or I crash in the afternoon. I do admit wishing I could get coffee and a couple eggs for under $25, without having to get out of my jammies. :)

We stay at one place on the Oregon coast where I love to order room service. Their restaurant is great with nice ocean views, etc. But the rooms are right on the beach and the restaurant is more on the side of the building. I'd much rather eat in my room and relax, looking at the waves than be in a noisy restaurant.

But, then again, I'm a weirdo.

You bet I do...I take big time advantage of the "services" like the valet taking my bag to my room (even though it's just a carry-on), valet parking and of course, room service a time or two during each visit. To be fair, as you know though, most of my visits are business related and expensed, so I'm rather fortunate in that regard. I might be a bit more frugal with the $40 omelet, if the freight bill was on me.

I have even had an $8.50 12oz. bottle of water and a $10 small bag of cashews from the mini-bar too... ohhhhhhh the decadence!!!!!

I have never used room service. Never gave it a thought. Even on those occasions when I had a sizable resort credit as part of an comp offer, it never occurred to me to use it. I have splurged on a steak house a couple of times when I had those large resort credits, though.

Waaay too overpriced. Only times we do it are on a cruise when the food is free except for couple bucks for a tip.

I'm inherently thrifty too, so I've never used room service and probably never will. Ms. Gecko tells me she has on occasion, but only when her company was picking up the tab. Likewise, the mini-bar might as well not be there as far as I'm concerned.

It's not a regular thing but yeah, I've had it and would have it again if I wanted/needed to. If you're going to do it, you're best to not look at the prices.

We do room service breakfast on 90% of our trips. It's like clockwork for us.

To hell with the cost.....(it is usually ridiculous) ....but....I'm usually in no shape to get showered and dressed and presentable to go out for breakfast in a timely manner....by then, it's usually lunch time!
Love just being able to laze around the room in the morning, getting ready at our own pace, watch some ESPN or a dumb 80's movie, gawk out the window watching the strip come to life, and have food (and coffee!!) brought to us.
I consider it a requisite part of the Vegas experience.

Every single trip. I wouldn't even consider staying somewhere (in Vegas) if they didn't offer a decent quality room service.

Usually for breakfast while nursing a hangover and watching a game/race. Sometimes at four am when I've been so distracted with the gambling that I've forgotten to eat since lunch and the room's starting to spin.

Yes, prices are ridiculous. But hey, it's Vegas - my frugality never makes the trip with me!

Absolutely use room service. That is part of my trip -- getting breakfast brought to me. I know it's ridiculously overpriced, but my $$ go for self pampering, not really gambling. At home I'm the cook and maid, I want someone else to serve me once a year. :)

I forgot to add something. I'm a well known cheapskate. Last trip I had a rough morning. I told my husband we should order room service for breakfast. It would give me a chance to get myself together and get some food and meds in me. He was horrified and said no, that he would get some food for us. He went to the little takeout looking place inside the Golden Nugget. I think it's called The Grille? Anyhow, he comes back with 2 breakfast sandwiches, some kind of potato cake style hash-browns, coffee and juice. It was all very good. But, it wasn't much cheaper than room service. For a few dollars more he could have hung out in the room and relaxed while waiting for our cooked to order breakfasts. Sometimes it's not worth it to be cheap.

Only twice and both times were because I had dining credits to use up. It's not worth it to me.

I've never done it in Vegas but I have at my local casino when I've stayed there. Their room service menu is very reasonably priced and it's fun to do once in a while.

I love room service, but the only way I usually do it is if it's on someone else's dime. Not always, for example if everyone is super hungover and no one can make it out of the room to pickup food for any of us, we will all do room service. Costly, but worth it sometimes.

I don't usually even think of it, even when I'm on a cruise or staying at an all-inclusive.

Never have in Vegas, but since our next trip is my birthday celebration and we'll be at the Bellagio, I think it may be time to splurge

Same here! Love having pastries, fruit, and fresh coffee delivered at 7am every morning while cruising.
I wouldn't pay for it in a hotel unless I won a million bucks or so! :evillaugh

Never have. The prices scare me. It is not that serious for me.
