    Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the second post of the day, this will be my last. As I mentioned I've just moved into town and am living near Fremont. I'm considering interviewing for a job at the Plaza and was wondering if I could get some opinions on whether its a good or bad place and why? Anything that springs to mind would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I think you'll get a lot of responses on this one, as the property seems have made several mis-steps recently. I haven't stayed there in years, but wandered thru a couple weeks ago. I think it's wonderful that they spendt a bit of dough and upgraded the rooms. It's also obvious that the new owners have done some other physical improvements as well. Oscar's in such a prominant location on site is another plus, as is the recently opened sportsbook.

You can search the threads or allow other more savey Plaza visitors to speak to the poor managemnt choices that often leaves the place empty. It's well documented in previous threads. I can't speak to it first hand, so I'll leave the details to them.

There are issues between them and the Culinary Workers Union. Last time I was in town, the Union was doing informational picketing in front of the Plaza.

I believe that still has not been resolved. But, even in a Union casino, not all jobs are Union.

One of the things I like most about the Plaza is my interactions with their employees. My experience has been positive, they seem upbeat and are very helpful. Maybe I've just been lucky but I hope it's because by and large they like their jobs.

just because there are some whining customers and union types that doesnt make it a bad place to work.

I personally would rather work in a dead place then a super strict and fancy one.

Lots of people love working at walmart and people complain like crazy about the place.

Worse case is you get the job and dont like it.

Go there and just ask around how they like the place. most people are pretty straight forward and you can always tell by the stuff they dont say too.
