I will be playing in event #51 at the WSOP which starts Thursday, 06/26 at noon. It is the $1500 Megastack. This will be my first time playing in the WSOP and I am getting kind of excited. I have the Tapatalk app so I will try and do some updating in this thread on the breaks which are every 2 hours.

Any suggestions or helpful advice from any WSOP veterans out there?

I will also Tweet out some updates. My Twitter handle is: @kaboom_poker

Best of luck. I probably won't play any of the bracelet events this year but it is quite an experience. The venue is massive and I think it is intimidating early. In an event that size, you probably won't be at a table with a big name pro but, if you are, remember they are just ordinary people and some of them aren't all that great. They got some TV time and sponsorships and that is the difference between them and the rest of us. On the other hand, some are very good :nworthy:

If you make the dinner break, have someone get a table somewhere in advance. The alternative is the overpriced dinner snack bar close to the poker venue.

    Good luck on Thursday.
I also watch online for results.
Was at the Rio in 2011 during the WSOP. Did not play but witnessed a few games.

    1) Familiarize yourself with the venue beforehand so you won't be "star struck" by it all the day of the event. Go Wednesday evening and walk through Pavilion and Amazon (check out the "mothership" -- site of the final tables -- and imagine yourself sitting there in a few days), maybe play some low-level cash game. Leave at a decent hour and get plenty of rest for the next day.

    2) Remember with the ridiculously good structure that you've got PLENTY of time to make hands. Play a good tight-aggressive game and don't spew chips early.

    3) Identify the good and weak players at your table and try to tangle more with the weaker players (i.e. raising, instead of calling in borderline raising situations in late position).

Wish I was there. Was going to play this one too, but our baby's doctor's appointment was scheduled for this day so I'll be coming and playing the $1,500 NLHE next Tuesday. Should be a massive field for this one...more than 5,000 I bet.

I was there last night. Line to register was extremely long so I left. Does anyone know if I would be able to register this morning? I've heard they might divide it into two sections. Anyone have any info?

Best of luck! I'm watching the daily updates on each event. Knew a couple people from our home poker game (it is usually 30-50 players each week) who have already played but none made it to the final table.....

3rd break. I had a big double up with my KK vs QQ all-in on the turn. Sitting at about 27,475.
