    I can't see a sticky about this...

Is there a listing of casinos that offer freeplay when signing up to their players clubs (without having the America Casino Guide)? I assume it will mostly be downtown casinos.

We just got back from a trip to Vegas and one day we walked the entire strip and played at every single casino. It was a long day. But we also signed up for every card, as we really only ever use Grazie and to a lesser extent CET, this got us signed up for all of them. You're right you wont get that freeplay just for signing up on the strip. Here is what I recall.

Tropicana - up to $200 (bigtime caveats on this) - its paid to you only on net losses, so if you don't lose money you don't get it, and its paid out at 50% of your losses.
Casino Royale - $20 cash back on first $20 loss (signup); $20 for each $100 after (ongoing offer) - like trop, its only on losses, so once you win you have to lose that + more.
Treasure island - this was the only one to give "true" free play, but you had to ante up first. If you earned 100 points (happens fast there) you got to spin a wheel for $20-$200 in freeplay. I think 100 points was approximately $100 of risk, so wasn't terrible

We were already members of CET, Mlife and Grazie which don't have a signup bonus that I saw. Similarly Identity (Cosmo); and RedCard (Wynn/Encore) had no freeplay just for signing up.

The last time I was at SLS they had a promotion where if you showed them your monorail ticket and signed up for a card you'd get a chance to win free play, with $5 minimum prize. They didn't look at the ticket and of course I only won the $5.
