So last month I stayed at aria for a week and ended up leaving up about $14,000 , it was a couple good days at roulette for sure :) anyhow, I was there right at the time the points reset and went from 0 to 70,000 in a day. Now I'm not saying all of this to brag, I'm saying it because I'm confused. After all of that play at Aria, I went into a casino host to see if I qualified. I have to say they were pretty unimpressed with me and quickly made me feel like I should leave. So last week I check my MLife account and I have 3 really good offers from MGM. I'm talking free suites here and free VIP for KA (I'm booked to go back in 2 weeks). So I have 3 of these offers from MGM and not a thing from Aria. Why is that? Does Aria not want me there? Is my $500 a hand at roulette not enough for them? Why would MGM give me all of that stuff when I don't even play there? Should I just start playing at MGM? I'm just a little confused so any clarity on this would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Aria hosts seem to be pretty tough. I'm not sure why there would turn away a $500/spin player.

I would book the MGM corporate offers and play wherever you want. If you play again at Aria, I'm sure you will get some Aria offers next time.

$500 a hand at roulette is enough for Aria or anyone to take care of you. I'd give it a little time. Your description of what happened in the host's office is pretty vague.

Aria seems to get a lot of hate around here in terms of comps but I've had good experiences with them so far and fairly generous comps for my play.

I find Mlife to be a complete mystery.....as do most of the people on this board. I made platinum again after 1 trip to Aria last month and neither my DH nor I have a single offer in our account. Fine....I like staying at Wynn better anyway and I think we'll book a trip to Bellagio and use our express comps there. :Þ

Aria is tighter than the others.

I would stay at MGM or M-Bay.

You may get some Aria offers via email shortly. I still get offers from Bellagio that do not even show up on mlife. I would call VIP Services when booking your next Aria trip.

I've gotten offers the last week or two from several MGM hotels (mirage, Monte Carlo, New York New York) and have already used some to start booking my next trip. I played more at Aria then anywhere else, but haven't gotten anything from them yet. My guess for both you and I is that Aria simply hasn't sent out their offers yet. In the past, I've noticed their offers come less frequently than some of the others. I've noticed the same about the Bellagio.

Figuring out when and why mlife offers show up will never be solved!!

I know your primary question was about lack of offers, but I am curious about host treatment based on play, as it has been a hot topic lately as it relates to Aria hosts. Can you provide a little more info?

    • -You stayed for a week - 7 nights?
    • -How many total hours of play at $500/spin did you put in?
    • -Was any part of your trip comped - either with upfront offer or back end comped by the host?
    • -Lastly, can you tell us how many Express Comps you earned on the trip?

    Comments:

How much you win or lose has little to do with how you get comped in normal scenarios.

Going from 0 to 70,000 tier credits on the first day could largely be the result of the initial cc authorization on check in. If you were there for a week, they could have easily pre-authorized as much as $2000 total. That would be an instant 50,000 tier credits showing up on your account.

I really do not think a pre-auth will hit the Mlife account. But, I could be wrong. hmmmmm....

Does MGM still work on the home casino theory? All of my best offers came from NYNY for many years after we started gambling there in 1999. When we switched over to Aria after it was built, we continued to get the best offers from NYNY even though we did not play there anymore. It took 18-24 months for our best/main offers to switch over to Aria. No idea if they still do this, but maybe their records have MGM as your home casino.
