I'm a big fan of the PH casino from a location and gambling standpoint. The rooms have been a drawback however. I will be there a couple times over the next month. Has there been any well overdue room rehabs lately that I should request?

Not in my stays last year. Even the lower level suites, Panoramic, Boulevard, and Apex are just run down dumps with great views, large rooms, and cool games. If you are going for a basic room, I would ask for an upgrade to a resort or resort vista room.

Yes they have completed some rooms and will be doing the whole place. My Son was the first to stay in the room he was in over new year's and it was really nice. They have removed the memorabilia and painted everything white. They have also replace all the furniture and the bathrooms are re-done as well. Even the hallways have been painted white with new carpeting. I believe the new ones are now called Ultra Hip and they have pictures on their website.

I stayed in a Hollywood Hip room back in June. The room was okay, nothing I would brag about, loved the tub though. The pool decks are near worthless in my opinion. They have a family pool where if you can get a seat you can enjoy if you just want a regular pool and water. There is an adult only pool but you have to pay to have a seat. It took me longer to walk to the deck than I spent there to be honest. If the room is free i would stay again but I don't see myself paying for it, only because I do enjoy a nice pool area for part of my day and I wont pay for a seat. Note, there is a deck between the two pools that is full of seats that are free.

We stayed in a resort room in March, it was MUCH better than a Hollywood hip room.

My biggest complaint with PH was the tiny window.

Only the Hollywood Hip have the small window, the resort rooms have very large windows.

With a strip view make sure to be high up or else you won't be seeing much more than the back of the PH facade.
I like the Resort Vista room because its at the end of the hall and really limits noise.
The living area is pretty small but really like the bathroom configuration and size.
