So I saw that the 2015 GOP debate is held at the Venetian inside the phantom of the opera theater. My question is why is the theater still the same? The chandelier is still hanging, I mean after 4 yrs wouldn't you think it would of been redone to serve others. Or do they plan on phantom to return someday? Vegas is all about money and a theater not showing shows is lost money.

Its used a lot for special events (like the debate) and concerts, we've seen a couple one-off shows there over the last few trips, but as far as know there hasn't been a resident act there (other than short term engagements) since Phantom left.

V/P is currently in the process of cleaning out virtually all of their shows for 2016. It will be interesting to see what they bring in, and if they utilize that space on the regular again or not.
