Okay FINALLY narrowing it down. I wanted to do Aria/Cosmo; however, I can save a bit if I do PH or Mirage..

Will be taking GF so I'd like a nice pool for her, good food options, good location... I will be betting some NBA Playoffs, but other than that my gambling will be BJ. She likes clubs, I prefer "bars" ... we never end up doing them b/c I gamble every night so I'd prefer to at least go one night and rip it up a bit :drunk:

    Million dollar question.. thoughts??

I would pick Mirage. PH has a lousy pool. Mirage has a fabulous pool. PH doesnt have a good club in the joint. At Mirage you can make her happy with a good pool experience, you can fire it up in the casino and then stroll to 1-Oak and keep her happy on that level as well.

Again, it all boils down to where you think you will spend the most "walkable' time at night. Daytime is for exploring, and nighttime is play time, be it gambling, clubs, or things like Carnival Court.

We have never stayed at Mirage, but hear nothing except great things about it.

It is Mlife's jewel, in a CET dominated area, a jewel Mfile is never going to give up!

We have visited Mirage during the day, and did the Secret Garden thing, saw the pool. Everyone craves how good the pool area is. And I have to agree it is soooooooo nice.

Now on the flip side, are the others are in a better location? Mirage is in a GREAT location!!!!

Just depends if you want your nighttime walking area to be in the PHo area, or the Venetian area. Extra points for Mirage if you need cheaper gambling at the Casino Royal.

Personally, we hated the Casino Royal, but Loved Bills (gone now) for our DIVE casino of choice. I know, the problems one has, having to make a decision!

BTW, we prefer the PHo area. Love the area at night, and Bellagio fountains.... But that is us. If you decide Mirage because PHo has no Club, remember Cosmo is just across the street.

Bottom line.... where do you want your nightlife walkable home base at?

As stated above, Mirage is the way to go. I stayed at the PH this time last year. The pool is terrible.

The atmosphere at the PH is pretty cool.....more happening than the Mirage....but still not worth it. The furniture in the rooms were so worn out and gross.

There is nothing to discuss here. If the pool is the priority you should book The Mirage now and end this silly discussion. You will be happy that you did it and so will your gf. The sports book there is excellent. I haven't been to the club since the renos but it was just fine when we were there although we did have bottle service and were drunk when we got there so I may be romanticizing a bit.

But seriously this discussion ends with the pool......

The Mirage, and not just for the pool.

I reccommend Mirage as well. The pool is great, but i reccommend you get a cabana. You will bake in the sun at the pool if you do not have a cabana.

Sounds like the mirage is resounding yes :)

I have been in there a few times and the food didnt seem that great; however, I'm sure if I stayed there i'd be ok... How much is a Cabana? It is just going to be the two of us, so I may do that one day as a treat for her I suppose. I liked PH's location but I have to be just as close if not closer to that area than I would be from the MGM (which is where I've stayed the past few times). I just need to switch up the scenery.

I stayed at both and i would pick Mirage again even if it was twice the price of PH.

Better Pool, IMO better vibe (i am 25 but still like Mirage more. PH can get ******bagish sometimes), better location (i dont like south strip that much) and you have everything around you at Mirage. WYNN or CASINO ROYALE and everything between that in walking distance.

    A no brainer. Mirage!

The pool seals this deal, but I like the PH location much better. I'm not a fan or TI or CP, or Casino royale, whereas PH is close to Cosmo, Aria, Bellagio, Monte.

There are party pits at PH, NYNY, Monte, Paris, so If you like that 'music video' vibe while gambling, PH is the winner hands down. Food options are good in Mirage, but PH proximity to Cosmo, MGM and Aria give it a bump for food too.

Both have good mid level poker rooms.

Either way, it will be a good choice

Another vote for Mirage - stayed there more than any other place in the last 13 years. Feels like home base. It's an easy walk to PH if you want to go play there. The food is good - California Pizza Kitchen, Carnegie Deli, Samba, BLT Burger....lots of good places!

Sweet - Mirage it is... I called and their offer for my Pearl level is worse than smartervegas.com.. crazy.

Any recommendations on what room I should try and get upgraded to when I check in? I am going from April 30 - May 2 (note: that is the night before the Mayweather fight...)

    Thanks all!!

I would vote for Mirage, too. As far as a cabana, you can put in a "request", which means if the cabanas aren't taken up by the high rollers that day, then you can get one. I think they are limited. Don't remember the cost, though.

Mirage in a landslide. In addition to the pool and other reasons listed! The BJ conditions will be much better than PH.

Here's a post-decision vote for Mirage. My wife's and my favorite hotel in Las Vegas of the four she's stayed at and seven I've stayed at.

    - Great pool (if you can find two seats next to each other or afford a cabana). A good blend of classy and fun.

    - Pricey but delicious food options (Japonais is one of our favorite restaurants in Vegas, the Heritage was great, BLT Burger and Carnegie Deli are tasty, the buffet is solid for a mid-level price and you can usually find 2 for 1 coupons).

    - Gambling is pretty typical for the mid to high level Strip hotels but Casino Royale and a bunch of less expensive CET hotels are directly across the street.

    - My personal favorite location on the Strip for just wandering and drinking (and I do a lot of both, though South Strip is arguably a better place to feel comfortable drinking in an excessive manner, at least for me).

    Which would you guys recommend?

Again I am hoping to get a further upgrade at desk upon check-in so keep that in mind ;) maybe a suite!! It's my GF and I's anniversary trip.
