    My Trip Report

Yet another Peppermill Reno trip report. This is our fifth trip this year. Yes, we like the Mill.

Oct 20th was our 24th Wedding anniversary. We considered going to Vegas, but just couldn't swing it with my new job, my son's basketball schedule and my older kids all being busy. Since we'd have to take the little ones up to Sac to stay with the grandparents, we decided to go on up to Reno for the weekend after.

Thursday we dropped the kids in Sac and rolled into the Mill at about 8:30pm. Usual drill, check-in, up to the room for a Bourbon, hit the casino. Played $1 DDB till about 11:30pm. Down $2K. Damn (bad). Decided to play one more session; I hit my fourth Royal for the year, holding only one card. Damn (good). Went to Cafe Milano for "dinner" just after midnight. Played a little more afterward and then to the room about 1:30am. Up $2K. Nice start.

Friday morning AllNetMom was rockin' it, but I was sucking so bad we just bounced around. ANM was getting lots of small quads and some premiums for 400 and 800, but no hand pays. I didn't get any pictures cuz I generally only shoot hand pays, so I apologize for the lack of VP porn. Next time I'll get more pics. We had lunch at Oceano. In the afternoon we decided to play some craps and I tried a little DDB Triple play. Neither worked out. We then continued with $1 DDB for a while and sucked. Lost all of the gain and dipped into the bankroll about $1500. Shitzu. ANM made reservations for dinner at Romanza. I was in a bad mood, and proceeded to be an ass about not wanting to go to Romanza. Then I started hitting the quads, including aces, and before you can say Bob's your uncle, we were up a bit. Romanza was very good, and afterward my streak continued, including more aces. Finished the day still up $2K.

Saturday is kinda fuzzy. Long story short, we lost. Lunch at Biscotti's, Dinner at Bimini. We had been to Bimini once before, and weren't impressed. The first time the service was poor, the food over cooked, and everything was too salty. This time, it couldn't have been better. The service was excellent and the food was perfectly prepared. After dinner we continued to play and lose. Played about $53K coin-in for the day and ended down $2K (for the three days).

As usual, it all came down to Sunday. We decided to risk another $2K, and risk we did; several times getting down to just a few hundred left before bouncing back up. By about noon, we were "only" down $1600 total, when the strangest thing happened: ANM actually suggested we play $2 (Bet 10 on a $1 machine). The catch was, we play $400 ($200 each) and go home (I negotiated the amount a bit). I hit Aces. We finished the trip breaking even.

Coin-in for the trip was ~$140K. The room (Luxury Suite in the Peppermill Tower) was comped. When we arrived we had already banked about $1000 in express comps, and we used $600 for the food. Just wanted to be clear that this play alone did not cover our food. In the end we spent about $300 on tips and gas, but I'm still calling this one a win.

So I'm curious..for $140k coin-in, for the weekend, that WOULDN'T have covered the $600 for food??
Damn man, I know Reno is so damn close for us...but if they're not treating you good for ~$50k a day, you should visit Vegas more often! (That'll get you STUFF at CET!)
On the room though...which one do you like better? Peppermill Tower (Closer to Casino) or Tuscany Tower (WAAY far back, but nicer rooms, imho)

Ohh, and the 20th is my birthday, LOL (with the 18th being my anniversary now, haha)

The $50K was just Saturday, overall we averaged about $35K/day. Would they cover a $600 food bill on that play? I don't know for sure. The room was comped up front, but like CET, Peppermill always burns the express comps before making discretionary comps. We've always had a positive balance due to the frequency of comp multiplier days. This weekend was not a multiplier, so we only earned around $200.

I much prefer the Tuscany rooms, but ANM makes the reservations and I think she feels guilty about asking for too much up front. This year we've spent three trips in the Tuscany and two in the Peppermill Tower. Two of the Tuscany trips we had two rooms (a suite and a double king). Still, the Luxury Suite in the Peppermill Tower is a very nice room, just not as nice as the Tuscany Villa Suite, and we like a room near the back elevator that drops you right onto the Casino Floor.

Happy Birthday! And congrats on the nuptial!

Oh yes, CET and MLife have been very good to us this year, but we play $50-$60K /day there.

    Hi Timspeed!

I like the luxury suite with the in-room Jacuzzi bath and the steam shower. It is sooo awesome, It also has a separate living area with a bar and fridge. The remodeled rooms are quite nice- they have plenty of space, but I don't feel like we are swimming in the place like I do in the large suite in Tuscany Tower. Also the TV in the bedroom is perfect! AllnetDad prefers a separate living room so....yeah given the choices--its the tower all the way. Like AnD, I also love being so close to the casino floor!

I hate that we couldn't swing Vegas this time around, but life is busy!
