If they were in my own neighborhood and next to each other, it would be Peppermill. But in Vegas I find it fun to go to Hash House a go go, for the monstrous creations you get on your plate (with complete shrubs of herbs stuck in it or half a pineapple on top). Huge piles of food, great for pictures. My favorite dish is Fried Green Tomato Stack. It's chicken breast, piled up with fried green tomatoes and some creamy stuff that tastes like Boursin. It is very yummy (although I cannot even finish half of it) and looks like this:

Of the two I would say Peppermill. But if you want a good breakfast try Dupars. Best pancakes in Vegas.

OMG! On a bed of watermelon garnished with rosemary! Who thinks up this stuff?!!! I'm sure this would give you pine-sol aftertaste for an hour!

Seriously, I would much rather have something less "creative" but done properly!

I think they add the rosemary bush, so you can brush your teeth after the meal. Very thoughtful!

I would do both, they are both unique places to try at least once. But if I had to choose one it would be Peppermill.:feedme::feedme:

Pretty interesting how the curve is skewed so far in the Peppermill direction.
Wonder why that is? Board demographics? Hmmmm...

Where is Peppermill though? I don't want to have to take a taxi to get there. Thinking we will try out HHAGG this trip. Can I cut the line at The Linq with my platinum card?

Peppermill is close to the Riviera (now closed) and Circus Circus.

As far as I understood from the board, you can cut the line with platinum.

I've only been to HHAGG. I enjoyed what I ordered but they overdo the tricks so there were lots of things on the menu I passed on because the dishes seemed overwrought.

HHAGG does have its diehard fans! My guess might be that the folks here love Old Vegas {tm} and Peppermill is a very authentic old-school place that really has not changed in a few decades. It's mostly old-school basic food but done well, and the larger portions don't hurt with the reputation. If the food is genuinely good, more of a good thing is, well, more of a good thing. :)

HHAGG, on the other hand, is tres gimick-y and wannabe-foodie. After a couple of trips, people realize that stuff like a tower of chicken breasts on a slice of watermelon is not haute cuisine and there's really not (in my not so humble opinion, of course) that much real talent in the kitchen!

What I noticed was the altitude enhanced by a bed of mashed potatoes (smoke and mirrors? Can we say that?).
I wasn't gonna say anything, but since you dragged it out of me... ;)

Eaten at both. You couldn't pay me to eat at HHAGG again.

Total Rewards status. Many CET restaurants offer priority seating for those with at least platinum or diamond status.
