My wife likes penny slots and plays the min. Does she have the same chance at bonus play as if she was playing max?

I don't play penny slots, but I think it's probably the same with any slot machine. You have to play Max credits to get the bonus.

It is the same chance, unless the machine specifically says otherwise.

As an example IGT has games in their "Bettor Chance" line and the way those work is if you increase your bet it has an effect on the game, usually turning some symbols wild... and for some of those games (not all) this change could increase the likelihood of hitting the bonus rounds.

    Definitely read the menu/rules.

Some will have buttons for the active lines with 1, 10, 20, 20+bonus activation.
With these machines you can still bet minimum but need to include the activation button.

Other machines won't activate the bonus without a max bet.

Others will give you the same chance with min or max bet.

So how would you go about playing 10 lines allowing for the bonus?

I always thought those 20+ Bonus was an even grater wager than the max lines, so I have never played those machines.

Most of the new ones with the really fun bonuses will work as long as you are betting the maximum lines, and most give you no choice but playing all. For LotR:TTT, for example, you can bet $.40, $.80, $1.20, $2.40 or $4.80 per spin. The bonus rounds trigger the same no matter what your bet is.

    Some yes, some know.

For those with maybe 9-10-30 lines, you need to think through this.

You get the bonus with certain symbols hitting on the played line. If she does not play line #9 and the bonus comes up.. tough.

On some machines, you have to max play to get the bonus.

Most machines yes for Bonus play but not for the Jackpot pays on any machines I can think of, some of my best, actually the majority of my top wins, have been betting far less than max bets. Like others have said read the rules of the game to know for sure.

I'd say the vast majority of penny slots will get you to the bonus round just as often if you play 1 coin per line or 10 coins per line. There are even some that trigger the bonus by a 'scatter', (the symbols don't need to line up, you just have to get a certain number of them), that will trigger the bonus just as often with one line played. However, the money you win in the bonus is totally based on the $$ per spin you are playing, so you'll win 250 times less if you are playing 1 line and 1 credit per line than if you are playing 25 lines with 10 credits per line.

My plan is always to play max lines which will make everything other than scatters hit more often, and then play the number of credits per line that makes me comfortable. I usually try to play such machines at around $1.00 a spin, but that's just me. But you can make the machine "make just as much noise" by playing max lines and 1 credit per line. Many times this means 0.25, 0.40, 0.60 or some number like that per spin.

If there is some progressive or super jackpot involved, that will almost always hit only with max coins. But just to make it to the normal 'bonus' rounds, min coins (or sometimes max lines/min coins) will do it just fine.

I will fluctuate my bet. If the max is $2.40 and the min is $.40 I will rotate my bet. It's all based on how the machine is playing and how I feel. I can afford the occasional max bet but I can't play for too long if they are all max.

I have gotten steady comps for rooms, freeplay, and food. I think the time playing is very important. Don't get me wrong, if you max bet for an hour thats good play but a casino will never overlook someone who plays for 2,3,4+ hours even if it is at min bet.

    I guess I'm a real cheap-@$$.

I play mostly penny slots. I got used to the 9 line machines so often I'll play 9 lines or round it out to 10 if there's no 9 option.

I've found that on the machines with many many lines, many of them will cover the same squares on the first three reels, which is often what you need to get the bonus.

Ditto with those bonuses where you need to have the first and the last on the same row.

And then there's Ducks In A Row. The special Duck In A Row pay-off only happens on a physical row, not a played line.

On machine like sex in the city its 50Cents minimum for 1 screen
2$ for 4 screens you can also play 4 screens at 4$ or 6$

No more Bonus by playing max bet but if you hit the bonus it will be with a multiplier

If you hit one of the progressive instead of having to pick 1 box out 3 it will be pick 2/3 at 4$ and pick 3/3 at 6$

On progessive jackpots like SexNCity... it is crazy to not play max. When you play max, and you get progressive, you automatically win it. Otherwise you have to pick and may or may not win.

    Thanks

Thanks for all the info. Now she knows she can play max lines at min per line and have equal chance.
