DH and I are making our annual trip next month, staying ten days total at the Orleans, Sam's Town, and the D. Checking the SW website I see our return flight is sold out, and since there is no pressing need to get home that day I'd like to try to get bumped, if possible. I'd also like to have a room in place for that night since it's the weekend of the iHeartRadio Festival. If we book a comp stay at the Gold Coast and end up returning on our scheduled flight, what would Boyd's policy be, if anyone knows? Only played there once and didn't really care for the casino, but we don't want to burn our bridges with Boyd's as far as their other properties go. We are both sapphire if that makes a difference.
Also - if anyone has any experience w/being bumped on SW, is it possible to request which flight you'd like to be rebooked on? Our scheduled flight is the last one out that day, but we don't want to be told we have to take the first flight the next morning, which leaves waaay too early and isn't a nonstop like we have booked now.

Yes, you are given the option of which flight you are rebooked on, depending on availability the next day.

On our May flight to Vegas my wife and I, two brothers and sil were all booked on the same flight and early on they were looking for volunteers. Both my brothers and sil beat us to it.

They told them they could be booked on the next non-stop flight in about 2 hours and they jumped on it for $400 each. So then they were given the priority boarding cards on our flight and got seats in the front of the plane, but they did board. Not sure why the confusion on how many volunteers they needed.

Anyway, the plane is boarded and they take my 1 one brother & sil off. Now apparently the flight they are rebooked on is also oversold and they each get another $400 voucher. Now, instead of non-stop, they have to make a stop in Kansas City.

End result: $800 each in vouchers and they arrived 3 hours later than scheduled on our flight. Oh, and they missed our limo ride!:evillaugh

Worth the reservation if you need it and if not call asap and just say a change of plans came up.You may lose whatever charge they put on your CC but it won't be much..
