I received an offer from V/P for 3 nights comp'd, $45 table matchplay and a free bag? Anyway I call to book and only the Palazzo is available on the dates Im going. Which is fine, even better then Venetian IMO. So I book it, but the lady on the phone tells me the resort fee ($20/nt) is not comp'd, but "STRONGLY SUGGESTED" talking to a casino host before I leave to see if I can have it removed.

Has anyone had luck with getting a resort fee removed? I really planned for this to be a poker only trip, but I still imagine I will end up playing table games anyway, so If I have to play BJ/Craps at V/P I wouldnt mind.

Yes you can have resort fees removed by talking with a host, dependent on your play of course. While I never get charged a resort fee at V or P, I have asked my host to put it on before so he can remove it at the end. Why? Because they have this silly system where about the only thing my host can't comp off directly is the Internet charge usage which is a separate charge when not paying the resort fee, however it's included with the resort fee and he can comp that off at the end of the trip.
