Both. For me the most enjoyable part of each day is getting overserved at the pool. In the early evening I'll go to a fun bar for a couple hours and tie one back on. I don't do nightclubs though.

I generally only gamble in the wee hours of the night, but if not for the gambling I wouldn't go to Vegas nearly as often.

More partying than gambling. I want to get something for my money! I do love the atmosphere in a casino though.

I try to not drink much during the day - I do more touristy things, casino hop, sun/pool, then do more drinking & gambling at night.

This is how it works for me. I am drinking while I am gambling and gambling while I am drinking. We do a few tourist type stuff each trip. Then there is the shopping, I go drunk.

Both. But depends on who I'm with, I'll be doing more one over another. During this past Super Bowl weekend trip, did more partying than gaming. So, next one, I might do a solo and do more gambling.

I gamble to party! I've never been into bars, clubs or any of that. After that, it's good food and maybe a show or a scenic detour.

We aren't much into drinking alcohol, yeah I know lol. I love to gamble with a water juice or soda or is it soft drink lol. One of my brothers and I, have this debate going on, that neither one of us will budge, he says how could you sit at slots forever, not having any alcohol in you and I ask him how could you sit at slots/tables forever drinking alcohol, one after another, finally stumbling up to your room and wasting an entire day, with black out drapes in the dark for an entire day, while in Vegas, yeah you get the pic? I know I need to lighten up.

Gamble during the day and party at night if there is a good old school band. Im in the 50's and I don't drink so partying for me is alcohol free. Love the group JAMM at Paris or at the M and the San Fernando band at Gold Coast! Give me 1 of those in a Vegas casino and the wife and I are there getting our boogie on at night!

I hit the strip each day and add 1$,$5 and $25 chips to my already fairly large collection. I go for a week and have plenty of free time to collect chips, eat at my fave strip restaurants, visit off strip casinos and chill in a nice sports book and visit some f the Las Vegas gambling related antique and book stores. Boneyard museum and Grand Canyon are always fun diversions.

I gamble pretty hard during the night. BJ downtown, craps on the strip. I only drink a lot when I know I won't be doing any gambling that day. I usually go for a week and the last four trips I locked a win by days 3-5, so this left a lot of time for shopping and drinking.

I definitely go to gamble. I'm a coffee snob and while Starbucks has Vegas locked down, I love to deviate and visit other coffee houses. My timing has been very good in terms of catching an old school band in town. The Golden Nugget has been a great concert venue. There's the extent of most of my partying. I'm yet to see a cirque show and may do that in April.

Heading down there tomorrow and I feel like I haven't distinguished in my mind between the partying and the gambling: I smell trouble! Seriously though I've established my daily limits for both, divided into "pre 4pm" and "post 4pm" on each day for gambling and drinks (I will almost certainly max both budgets out for all sessions)

    Both :)

Mostly we gamble in the late afternoon and /or in the evening. We go to clubs sometimes, only if we can in for free or we've got a good deal.
Rest of the day we're going to take a walk on the strip, have some drinks, go to the pool and SHOP (its lots and lots cheaper in the US then in Europe, so buying lots of Levi's jeans, Abercrombi, Victorias Secret (we dont have VS here) :)

It really depends what you mean by "partying!" To me it means you go somewhere to dance and mingle. Aggressive rather than passive. Sitting at a bar drinking is not partying. Sitting at a pool is not partying. With that definition in mind, I never was a party-er, and won't be starting at this late date. That being said, neither do I go to Vegas primarily to gamble. I'd say it's between the food and the shows and just hanging out.

Gambler here. I loves me a good Bloody Mary. Usually Buds or Coors Lights while playing. I like going from stage to stage on Fremont to see what's going on. There are lots more talented girls in bands these days.

I only gamble 2-4 hours a day when in LV. At home I don't at all. Tribal casinos in Wa are only allowed video lottery terminals here, so pay % is very poor (60%). VP has screwy paytables and bonuses which I'm sure is related to the VLT limitation. I could go to play craps, but I cover that jones in LV. Gambling is fun, but not my first choice.

Number one reason to go is visiting my friends who moved down in '98. Neither Bob nor I like talking on the phone, but when I get there we might talk Seahawks for 3 or 4 hours on the patio. Each trip is planned around them being available.

Number two would golf, although that would be more enjoyable once my knees are done. Lots of good golf down there and having a bud in the biz doesn't hurt.

Next would be the hotel/food part of travel. For a week I don't have to keep up a house, shop for food or cook. Each day I'l go to my room to watch afternoon news have a decent glass of wine or scotch while reading the paper. Then head down for another cocktail before dinner. I usually have an "entre dinner" as opposed to sandwich or burger. In LV I love taking advantage of the values available for dinner.

For those at home, we'll review the reasons to go.

    1 - Friends
    2 - Golf
    3 - Food and stay
    4 - Gamble and booze

    Good Luck!

Gambling and drinking are one in the same for me. The trick is maintaining the buzz and not going over the edge. Ending up passed out in your room before dinner is not the correct way to Vegas. Of course that never happened to me, definitely not last year, march madness. Yeah, that wasn't me. The only positive was that my bankroll was intact for the rest of the weekend. Wish my liver was....
