I am going to the Eagles concert at MGM in november, can I park at the Trop then walk across the bridge to the show? The MGM garage will be a nuthouse after the concerts over.

    Sure, why not?

Have you ever parked a car in a casino parking lot and had somebody check on you in the casino to make sure you were still there?

You could also park at other properties like Flamingo, Harrah's, IP, etc and take the monorail to MGM Grand.

Yeah noone will check on you. That is true. I have stayed at the Trop, its not that bad of a walk over the MGM and their garage is usually pretty tame. I don't know how many people the MGM concert hall holds, but I can only imagine what the garage is going to be like after that concert

It's a zoo. Maybe 15,000 to 20,000 people in the theater, and only one real way in and out. We were walking, and I found a side door because there were just so many freakin people after the show.

If you wanted to be closer to your car than the Trop, I'd look on the other side of the MGM, because that's where you'll come out, give or take. Certainly closer to the north than the south end of MGM.

But I was amazed at the traffic around the entire area. It took me 20+ minutes to get to MGM by cab at 6:30 for my dinner at Craft, and that was just from the Monte Carlo :confused2:

We did the Eagles there once. Even before the show, the crowd moving down that long corridor is crazy.

Any options you want to take would be great.

As to parking somewhere else? Sure. You can park at any casino at any time. They all hope you will stop and play and not just walk through the casino, but in the end, nobody knows who does what.

I would also suggest NYNY. Their valet has always been quick and you even just scan the bar code on your valet ticket to pick up, no need to find a valet to pick up your car!

How early before the show started did you show up? I am guessing an hour before showtime.

If you do park at NYNY, when you're leaving the concert, you're going to have a bunch of doors on your left as you're in that huge corridor. There will be guards on the doors, but they will let you out if you ask. Take about the 4th door or so -- it will lead you to the employee parking lot...the guard will tell you. Walk through that and to the street and you'll see Monte Carlo down that street, so you'll know which way to go.

This is what I did on 1 September when I was leaving.

Yeah, that was the same concert I went to. We showed up 90 minutes early so we could have dinner and it was already insane.

I have been told the best strategy is to park at Caesars and ask Cabbie to take back way into NYNY to drop you off. That beats the crowds. I have jogged that back route, but never tried it personally, just read that on here before.

I always thought, when I stopped into Hooters (the ONE time) that it would be the perfect place to park for an MGM concert.

Another thought is to park anywhere on the monorail, since you are already at the back of the building anyway

I would not worry about parking at one property and going to the concert. If you feel guilty take a stroll through the casino before heading to the concert.

Of course if you really want to do it and get out of there fastest, valet at MGM and give them a $20 to keep your car up front when you go in.

But with Hooters, you could pull out and take a right and be clear of the majority of the traffic problem.

Me and 20,000 others. I'd rather walk. Valets going to be a madhouse as well. I have also kicked around the idea of hanging out for an hour or two after the concert, but I don't know. I kind of want to hit Fremont that night. The next night I am going to Hard Rock for GN'R, so Fremonts out that night.

I recommend against hanging out afterward unless you really like crowds. Both before and after a big concert, MGM is packed in it's entirety, including pretty much every slot and the tables. If that's your thing, then definitely do it -- but for me, I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

For us, we walked to Monte Carlo which was still crowded, but less so -- of course our room was there, so it made sense. But we played a couple hours of craps at a $10 table that was only mostly full -- we got two spots side by side.

If you want to eat at MGM before the show, a reservation is an absolute must. Even the fast food places were slammed. Craftsteak was packed, and the service and food suffered a bit, but they did seat us exactly at the time we had reserved. Benefit to Craft is that it's halfway to the concert hall.

I will probably hit In N Out a couple hours before hand, yeah I don't think I will be hanging out at MGM, if I park at the Trop, I might hang out there. How bad are the streets afterwards? I am staying out at Sams Town

The worst part is getting out of the arena back to the casino! We didn't have an issue in the parking lot.

Before the show it was fine too, but after it was so bad we left immedietly

I can't really speak to the streets after, as I never drive in Vegas. We walked straight to the Monte Carlo, and it seemed about normal for the time of night, but we were on the sidestreet most of the way until we crossed the strip. And by cutting out the side door, we beat most of the crowd out of the MGM because they were stuck in that long hallway.

I don't do well with people touching me, so getting out was a priority.
