Hello all. The wife and I haven't been to Las Vegas for several years now, but are planning a trip for August.

Can someone please tell me if all the rooms at Paris have now been redone, or specifically if the basic rooms (which I think they call "classic") have been redone. Last time we were there (5 years ago?) they were in the process of updating rooms.

Am also looking at Planet Hollywood "resort room" for about the same price. Any thoughts? We're in our late 60s.

    Thanks, John

The Classic room at Paris is clean but very dated. We stayed there last in April. I believe the Red Rooms are the ones that have been redone.

Here is the classic room: [IMG] vs. the Red Room [IMG] vs. PH Resort Room[IMG]

I like the large bathrooms in the Resort Rooms:[IMG]

Do you like the loud PH casino? If so, I'd go with a Resort Room no question.

Planet Hollywood is geared to the 21-30 crowd. I think Paris would be a much better choice for you. I know that they were remodeling the suites first. Not sure if they started on the rooms yet. Their Red Rooms are still very nice, I would go with that.

The classic rooms are in serious disrepair and many of the red rooms (it's been around 8 years since they were done) aren't much better. I stayed in a red room in December and it was pretty bad. I hit a nice jackpot in the casino so that took a bit of the sting off, but I won't stay there again until the renovation is done.

The rooms at Paris at this point are just 'ok'...unless you can swing a "P" room. The "P" rooms are slightly larger and have a slightly larger bathroom. I think the PH rooms are a bit better.
    BUT...
The casino and environs at PH are geared towards a 20-40 year old crowd. Loud, LOUD, music all evening...and not great music. And, if you have a car, the parking garage is sooo far from the hotel you're almost forced to use valet (which I won't ever use for personal reasons). I won't stay at PH (I'm 57). The casino and environs at Paris are much more my style and I enjoy staying there.

I found my Red Room last August to be in good shape. It did not appear to have been redone. Heading back this August, hopefully everything room wise will be acceptable.

Yes, Paris rooms are not remodeled yet, for the most part. I would give edge to PH for more updated rooms.
PH is geared for the 21-30 crowd? Huh, guess nobody told me or my 71YO DM--we love PH! (she loves Paris, too) PH does have a youthful vibe & plays lots of current music which we like (she wanted to go to a Lorde concert last year so she is pretty up on current music!)
You can gamble anywhere & it is an easy walk to Paris casino if you find PH isn't to your liking--rooms are always quiet.
Had friends at Paris standard room 2 years ago--it didn't look as nice as that photo! Definitely worn & that country blue carpet has got to go.
But it is clean, safe & still has a great location!
