    Trips to Las Vegas:
    Hey all,

I usually always stall at the Flamingo (so I know what they are about). I have stayed there is a GO Deluxe, GO Luxury and Fab Luxury, and there standard room before renos.

But I have never stayed at the Paris.

I am looking at taking my wife to Vegas to see KA. She is not a gambler (so this trip will probably hurt my future offers!)

She thinks she wants to stay at the Paris. I can get rooms there through the Total Rewards Rate Calendar for about $200 for 4 nights (December 5, 6, 7 & 8).

I can get a FAB LUXURY at Flamingo for $30 total. (No Go Deluxe available, GO Lux for $300).

From the pictures I see of the Paris, the room pictures seem old and not as nice as the Flamingo Fab rooms.

She hasn't seen the pictures yet but likes the atmosphere, decoration of the Paris building, which yes is nicer than the Flamingo.

Are the Paris (standard rooms) Luxury 1 King rooms nicer than the Flamingo?

I have 18,000 reward credits remaining from Escape to Total Rewards. So at the end the price between Paris and Flamingo will be about the same, other than the fact that I burned through 18,000 reward credits.

OR to not hurt my future options, as we will not be gambling is there a nice property that we could get for about $200 those days? Eg) sign up for MLife or other reward card and get a room at Aria or somewhere else.

Stay at PH you cant go wrong Paris is a nice hotel but there rooms need upgrading, ask PH for a strip view room , its a real nice property, plus they have a mall downstairs, I have stayed at both quite a few times.

Paris is just nicer overall... even if the rooms are old I'd much rather stay at Paris. Especially if you aren't gambling, they have better restaurants, better location. It's really a good choice. I don't know about your wife but I know my Mom would HATE Flamingo she would say eww it's old and it's gross, and it's smokey, where as you won't have that issue at Paris even if the rooms are slightly outdated.

Aria would probably be $200 a night.. so I'd rule that out.. Maybe you could get something like MGM or Monte Carlo but that wouldn't be better than Paris.

I've stayed in Flamingo Go Lux w/view and Paris Red Room Lux, Premier, and RRLux w/view all over the past 18 months. My take on the two props:

    • Love being able to go from your room to the Strip in about 5 minutes.
    • Really like the Margaritaville "casino" within the Flamingo - just a nice change of pace without having to go far
    • Quick food options at their food court right off the casino floor
    • Go Lux w/view room was nice, but I'm not a huge fan of the 70's/Austin Powers vibe I get from those rooms. All that pink in the bathroom!

    • With their central elevator layout, no room is far from the casino floor. Easy to zip up/down to your room to rest, grab something, change, etc.
    • Connected to Bally's - I like gambling at Bally's for a change of pace and it's just a short walk thru their connecting mall to get there.
    • Right next door to Planet Hollywood - Miracle Mile shops, more dining options, definitely a more club-like vibe to their casino. Earl of Sandwich is there.
    • More of a laid-back vibe to the casino.
    • The Red Rooms are...red. I like the semi-decadent feel with all the red. Be warned - my last several stays at Paris, with fountain/strip views, the noise from the Cosmo clubs late at night was noticeable.

If it's a trip for the wife, stay at Paris. The rooms are fine there. I know the pics don't look that great, and the rooms are a little dated, but I've always enjoyed staying there. I like the Flamingo too, if I'm not at Paris I'm usually there. Overall as mentioned above, much better dining, etc

I'd stay at Paris with her. Ask for a red room at check-in; they seem to be less dated than the blue rooms. We love the atmosphere at Paris for the reasons mentioned above. Nothing wrong with the Flamingo, but since it's a Fab Lux and not a GO, I would definitely vote for Paris.

I stayed in the basic blue room at Paris in July and liked them very much. They are dated but that doesnt make my trip any worse. The one thing I liked was the shower and bath are separate and I thought the bathroom was rather large for a basic room. Flamingos rooms are of course remodeled recently but the only problem is their rooms are 350 sq feet...a tad small.
