I post fairly regularly about my hotel stays on this board. I am a middle aged, middle class woman and so I generally stay in the 3 or if I'm lucky a 4 star resort if I find a great deal.

I just returned from five nights at the Palm Resort. I had stayed there the last time I was there for two nights. The deal I got was for $48-$75 per night (Monday Thru Friday) which did not include the resort fee. With that deal, I got two free buffets per day.

I asked for, and received, an upgrade to the newly redecorated room, on the 24th floor with a spectacular view. I loved the room, love that the facility is small enough to get around and out the door in a couple of minutes instead of 30; I did not eat anywhere BUT the buffet (as a single traveler) and the buffet turned out to be great. There was a huge convention in town this week but you wouldn't know it from where I stayed (that's a good thing). I have nothing whatsoever bad to say about the place.

This may be my new favorite, as long as I keep getting good deals.

Agree that the buffet is great for the money!

I am glad you had such a great experience at the Palms. I have always been a fan of the layout, and d├ęcor. I never really started staying there until a couple years ago, when the nightclub/party/celeb. crowd began to vanish. The paytables for V/P are great, the table limts are reasonable, the food prices are very reasonable with a player's card and it has movies as well as parking outside of those 20 story parking garages. I haven't been on their radar for a little while, but I intend to make All-Star in the Player's Club during my trip in Feb. Sadly, I won't be staying there but I intend to give them some play.

I find Travelzoo.com often has good deals for the Palms. Here is their current special for Palms Place, which I think are the best rooms in the resort.

Glad you had fun there. I'll be at Palms Place in May, got an incredible deal on their 1 bedroom suites. I also love the property. It's fun, not huge, great pools (Palms pools for more of the party atmosphere, Palms Place for more laid back), I just really like the place.

Palms buffet is a treat particularly for the nice prices. I love the party atmosphere at the Palms pools.

You are going to love the Palm Place. I got a killer deal during a cyber Monday sale they had. It is removed just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the casino to be secluded but still a relatively close walk. We loved our one bedroom. The rain shower and tub was the bomb! You can tell the rooms were originally supposed to be condos when they were built. They got everything you can think of in the rooms. We will definitely be back.

Oh! Well that explains it then. One of the nicest rooms I have ever stayed at in Vegas.

I had received info from Travelzoo thanks for the information regarding
the experience at Palms Place. I have booked 5 nights. Anything special to ask for when checking in? It looks wonderful and lots of room. I do not mind off strip as we always rent a car.

I've always enjoyed the Palms. From the rooms, selection of VP and restaurants and the staff has always been friendly. Probably my favorite offstrip property.

Only one head scratcher. Why did they omit VP at the newly renovated elevated center casino bar? Valuable gambling space gone to waste there. Just like when they pulled out all of those great VP machines as you entered the main doors. That area is still empty.

One thing to consider about Travelzoo offers. Palms Place, like Vdara, Signature and others have some units that are owned by individuals. The rest of them are treated like any other hotel room/suite. Those that own units often rent them out throughout the year via 3rd party companies. In your case this Travelzoo offer is directly from the Palms, not a third party. But if you book one of the "owned" rooms through a third party you won't get housekeeping or maintenance service unless you want to pay extra.

The studio suite you booked is the same size as a Rio suite (600 sq feet) but nicer. You'll love it.

I am so looking forward to our stay. I am sure it will more than meet our expectations. Thanks for the info regarding the individually owned units.
Everything was book right through the Palms.

Ask about upgrading to a one bedroom suite. Cost me an extra $50 per night last spring on top of a rock bottom priced 3rd party reservation.

Suites are corner units; twice as big as the studio and include a fireplace and full kitchen.

Check YouTube for some video. Enjoy. Also continue to check travelzoo for restaurant deals on site.

    Second The Upgrade Idea

I loved the Palms Place, may never stay anywhere else again.

I did the $50/night upgrade and the room was amazing....we were on the 53rd floor, 53233 I think. Corner suite overlooking the Strip southeast side, panoramic view from the Strat to the MB. Worth every penny to us, but we spend a lot of time in the room studying sports spreads and such.

Proably saved the fifty a night just keeping a little food in the frij and a nice bottle of vodka in the freezer !
