i think there were one or two local casinos there. a golf course (or two) too. and 2 brothels also. unlike primm which as a shopping outlet there isn't that much in pahrump. also beware, heard that there are speed traps when getting into the place, easy to catch you coming down from vegas a little too fast, guess that's how they get their revenue, ticketing unsuspecting drivers.

good call on the speed zones, worth paying attention to.

I tended to hang at Terrible's there, the one across from the Nugget on main street; or at the Saddle West- both have cheap bar machines, decent food, low dollar blackjack. Mountain Falls is an excellent course and in my opinion dollar for dollar the best golf value in the vegas area. Think the other course was Willow Creek, fairly pedestrian track. It can be fun to stop by the bar at Sheri's Ranch, shoot a game of pool, bullshit with the girls.

Also you're an hour away from Furnace Creek in Death Valley NP. Great track there, lowest course in the world. You can make a nice loop going in Bell Vista Road and out on 372, or out thru Beatty and down the interstate back...
