Is there a better feeling? First up is Denver Tues/Wed nt then Vegas - land 9am Thursday. Meeting my wife in Denver so she's already gone. Listening to my Vegas jam, Talking Heads "Girlfriend is Better"(who took the money, who took the money away) and packing for a great week. Even though we just got back 3 weeks ago, it never gets old.

Giving Mandalay a try. Changing from The Aria for the first time in a few years. I see you're at The Mirage. Wife/I and another couple went to Bare 4th of July. Normally not into the pool clubs or nightclubs but we had a great time.

I love that feeling. You think it's too early for me to start packing?

How was Bare? My wife is too prude for the toptional. Did your wife participate? You don't have to answer that if you're not comfortable... Jut thought I would find out. Trying to convince her it is ok... We will be gambling at MGM. Would love to meet a fellow VMBer.

Bare was good and better than I expected. Crowded but we had 4 chairs and was worth it. Yes she did. It took her a few minutes(and drinks) but yes she and my buddies wife both participated. Was all good. You and your wife should give it a try.
Yeah we will be at MB Thurs-Mon. Maybe we can catch up.

It is a great feeling. A better feeling is a BJ heater. Starting to pack this weekend. Studying weather for the end of October/early November. I'll pack things I'm not using now anyway.

I cleaned the clubs and they are waiting to go in the trunk one of these days. Toss in several pair of golf shoes -- yes, Joe ;) -- eight or 10 polos, five or six pair of shorts, slippahs, sunscreen, two hats, portable office, get the chill-pack assembled so I can safely transport the three Pinots for Saturday's dinner at Craftsteak and then jump on Open Table for some more rezzies, and I'm good to go!!

You can bring your own bottle to Craftsteak and pay a corkage fee?

I (gratefully) hang with some of the Degens so they pretty much are ass-kissed, everywhere. (And that's a cool thing.) I don't know what the corkage is -- probably something usurious like 45 bucks -- but, yes, you can pack your own.

I'm bad about packing. I normally pack 30 minutes before it is time to leave.

I tend to veer more toward that direction. This trip is requiring a bit of forethought since I'll be working from the road as well as eating and drinking and playing golf with the gang, and you can't recycle the wardrobe when you've been out in 108 and the sun for hours on multiple days.

I still have a while to go...but the prepacking has begun. Bathroom bags filled and checked. Pile of things on the dresser waiting. Picked out my tops and put them to the side in my closet. I will be packed to go a week before I leave. It is half the fun leading up to the trip. Camera batteries charged. I'm trying NOT to take the suitcase and carryon out of the closet until 2 weeks before. Then it becomes real!

Everyone is different. I'm leaving in 18 days and I just took out my suitcases and carry on rollaway the other day to air them out. I already started to throw things in both of them, while I do have a checklist I don't want to forget any other optional stuff (like neck rest, breathe right strips, etc.) that I don't have on my checklist (guess I should put them all on the checklist but then I will have too many things on it).

The week before I do my final laundry and load my suitcase with my clothes. Then as it gets closer I add in the other stuff like camera + batteries, toiletries, etc.

Coming from Hawaii I usually have to plan my trip so I usually try to make a checklist so I don't forget anything. Learned the hard way when I went on one trip without my jacket during the winter. Froze on the plane and had to go buy a jacket since it was cold even in vegas.

Trying to restrain myself from telling the wife to go get the luggage from the basement until sunday (we leave tuesday).

Our biggest problem is over packing. How many clubs will we goto? How many nice dinners? Can I get away with nice shorts or do I need to wear dress pants to restaurant X? Should I bring 3 pairs of swim shorts or just 2? Should I even bother bringing colored polo's or just pack all white polos / button downs cause it's gonna be so damn hot.

Need at least 1 pair of beach sandals, 1 pair of leather sandals, 1 pair of dress shoes.

What will I do on the 5 hour flight from NY? movies? music? work on one of my websites? have my friend give me a script for zanex so i don't sit on the plane panicing for 5 hours and just sleep through it? (terrified of flying)

    first world problems...

I USED to start packing a week in advance, actually making piles of what to bring, etc. Then, for several years I waited till the night before. I have always started shopping for new outfits, jewelry, purses, etc months in advance, but actually packing is another story. I'm actually going to start pulling things together today for my trip next week. Trying stuff on, etc. I generally just take a bunch of my "Vegas" clothes and figure it all out there. I can't tell you how many time i go to get dressed and find something I brought is uncomfortable and wear something else. So this time, I'm actually getting outfits together, accessories included, so there will be little to no thought once there. I am also booked at one hotel for six nights, but double booked and actually staying at another for two nights, so I want to be able to just grab the clothes I need for those two nights and go, and not bring everything.

Funny story, my 18 year old daughter who hasn't been to Vegas in over ten years, was telling me yesterday she was talking to her friend and telling her she was going shopping with me so I could get some more "vegas" clothes. Her friend was like "your mom has clothes only for Vegas?" My daughter couldn't understand why everyone doesn't know that, of course people should have only Vegas attire. I guess only a child of someone who goes to Vegas 2-3 times a year would understand that. Lol
