Will be in Vegas for my 40th Birthday Sept 13, 14, 15th. Have approx 15 male/females. The first night we will hang out in the smaller hotel lounges or bars but on Saturday we would like to go to a big club. Here is the thing though. We are 35-45yrs old and not so sure we like the "electric" type of music. We enjoy hip-hop, top 40's, dance music. As much as I would love to check out Light I think I will save that for different trip/different crowd.

Do you think we would enjoy 1Oak or Tryst or LUX?

Also is it worth it to rent a party bus to take us and get us into these venues?

Sorry to sound so old I just want to make sure i'm making the right decision for our group.

Our about 40 group loved LAX. You may want to check Groupon for some of the deals on the Vegas club Crawls. I have done several and they have always been a great time!

    party group

Hey there, im 39 and have done this for years. By far I have the most positive reviews on Foundation room. 3 different types of music, awesome vip room, just generally the best place in vegas for the over 35 crowd.

As far as party bus, I tell people all the time. Your going to spend about 150-175 an hr but you get a few bottles, cruise the strip see the water show, maybe start a little earlier and see the fremont show.

Would be grateful for some more info on the Foundation Room.

I'm 42 and will be in Vegas first 2 weeks of November and looking for a lounge with a good vide with a more mature crowd. Looking at the FR website it looks more like a concert/gig type venue.

The House of Blues is the concert venue/restaurant, it is located on the casino floor by the Michael Jackson theater, the Foundation Room is the club located on like the 64th floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel tower. They are both at Mandalay Bay but are 2 separate places.

The Foundation room is great! There are a bunch of different rooms with different music and there is also a patio balcony where you can stand around drinking and looking down the strip. There are ALWAYS promoters on the Mandalay Bay casino floor giving out wristbands for free admission (might just be for women).

You can't not have a good time in the FR, it is a mix of people from 21-60 yrs old.

If you're truly a group, the party bus is a lot of fun. The catch is, when you do that, you all have to be somewhere at the same time. Sounds easy, but in Vegas, it rarely is, because everyone is doing their own thing or is drunk or ends up in another place. So it starts out as a good idea, but becomes a giant pain in the ass.

So the answer is that it depends. If you're all staying in the same hotel, I recommend that if you're doing the bus thing, you do a meet up at a bar in your hotel for drinks for an hour or so before the bus gets there. That way, you have more people show up. Or just meet somewhere for dinner and do the party bus from dinner to the club.

If you're a more disparate group or are staying somewhere else, I recommend that everyone just meet at your destination. That way if some people are running behind (and they will be) then it doesn't derail the whole group.

    Foundation room

The Foundation is what they call a members only club. They actually have other locations around the country and couple overseas. Its part restaurant, part events center, and lounge. It is the business mans club, but still a good male to female ratio. they have several private rooms, me personally I like the Buddha room. The private rooms are down a hallway off the main room with security controlling entry. the main room there is typically a dj, but spinning house, hip hop, top 40, there is another room with a contortionist and some sort of trance or house going. The thing is they mix the music up, you very rarely hear more than 2 songs of a genre together. The great thing about the club is its elevator ride up then the views are amazing. when you go on to the patio you look north over the strip, and you see some of the best views. I take people from 30-60 there and everyone loves this place. pretty easy access to the bathrooms, since it is a smaller venue. the bar is kinda small, so sometimes you do have to wait.

1 oak is a good club, just think its not what your looking for. its more hip hop and top 40, but just a little younger different crowd. Its also room nightclub. Tao wouldn't be bad either. With your group I would say stick with a smaller venue. at my age sometimes the getting around the club part is frustrating, I used to really enjoy getting thru the clubs, getting to the dance floor, as I have gotten older its so much easier to get a table, dance in your little area, drink and enjoy the people in your area.

what I recommend is to start your night a little early with dinner. Have your limo bus pick you up, make a stop at liquor store and cruise the strip. typically if you start at Venetian area, it will take an hour to get to mbay.

I'm 44 and if that number is solid and you are seriously considering one of those 3 clubs I would go the table/bottle service route. By the time you get in, don't know what the cover is for those currently, then all roll to the bar to spend $x per drink and shots, it's your bithday and shots will be called for, then stand around at the bar to keep your spot to continue drinking or get on the overcrowded floor for a bit just to walk back up to the bar, wait in line around the bar and start the process all over again. Oh yeah, you lost your spot on the floor because you left and you're spilling your drink playing elbow to azzes through the crowd to get back to the spot your group is sardined in on the floor. Now the girls want some drinks but were not ready earlier but now are but don't want to lose their spot and will hold yours...pleeeeaaaase...with puppy dog eyes going. Yep, done this once or twice before I learned to go the other route at clubs which is.....

Call one of the hosts at the club:

    1Oak- Joey Orr - 586.873.4876 - [email protected]
LAX- Rebeccah Gannon - 702.629.9959 - [email protected]
Tryst- Bobby Yeadon - 708-714-0280 - [email protected]

Tell them you have whatever the final number is and you want to do bottle service. Usually 1 bottle per 3/4 is the rough number. Bobby and Joey may be able to pull a buy 2 get 1 free deal depending on how the night's reservations are looking. Ask them as it is not a publicly promoted offer. The beauty of working with a promoter.

Now you have real estate you can sit and enjoy, have the waitress bring the drinks and shots to you, etc. Just a thought from my past experiences and playing the devil's advocate.

i think hyde would work smalller more upscale , get a table for your group and u will have a good time without being overwhelmed by large club.also saville row under lax is pretty chill if u go to lax u can pop in there and go back and forth to lax so u can get away from some of that lax crowd

FYI. The foundation room is a very small venue compared to most of the others. As mentioned, it was once a members only club but now accepts anyone.

That's not to say it's wrong for you. It plays good music and one of the best views on Vegas.

Tao is much more of a big vegas club scene. They played amazing music when I was there. Can be a madhouse though. For Tao I'd make arraignments for a large group.
