My little sister is taking her first trip to Vegas next spring and naturally asked me for suggestions on what to do. After rattling of several must see things,(Bellagio water fountains,TI pirate show,Hoover Damn, Fremont Experience, etc.), I started mentioning what I consider to be fun but often overlooked stuff by most people who visit Vegas. That led me to wonder what others thoughts were. Maybe I'll learn something and on my next trip see or do something that I otherwise would have overlooked.

So my question to everyone is:
What do you think are fun things to do or see but often overlooked by most people who visit Vegas?

Okay here's one, go up Stratosphere tower just before sunset and watch the sunset and the strip lights come on from there.

Good way to kill an hour.

My favorite thing to do is watching the turtles at Flamingo's Nature Habitat. Figures, huh? Of course, that's only for the warmer months (late March – October). Plenty of birds and fish, also!

    Good One!

That is something I would have never thought of but next trip will definitely make time to do it. Glad I asked the question.

About 5 years ago, my wife and I went to Vegas for the first time. I went in February and she went in April. :evillaugh. True, I had a chance to go with a co worker just before a business meeting in Scottsdale. She went with her 4 sisters on a 50th birthday trip.

At any rate, one of the things I enjoyed was having a few cocktails at the Ghostbar at the Palms. It was in the evening and several hours after sunset, but to see the lights of the city for the first time on the top floor was unforgettable.

Good call on these. I'll add the Neon Museum.

Red Rock Canyon, Pinball Hall of Fame and the Neon Museum for sure. Add Voodoo Lounge at the Rio (for a fantastic view of the strip from the rooftop), Peppermill Lounge (for cocktails in an old school cocktail lounge), the Shelby Museum (free tour, great for car nuts like me), and if you go in late March, the Viva Las Vegas Car Show.

I like to go up the Eiffel Tower and watch the Bellagio fountain show from there.
