Orleans has free wifi but read the fine print. This was the information card in the room at Orleans. I bring my own wifi so I could care less but this might be of use to others on this board. Mods feel free to move this thread if another wifi thread exists.

I stay there often and the basic wifi in the room is fine unless you're going to stream a movie.

The resort fee is waived if the room is comped in my experience. Now that I think about it, I use their wifi for the vegasinsider football stats to handicap my bets. I haven't won any recently so maybe it is defective.

    Too funny, Bungadin ..

We were just there. The in room wifi was fine for three of our devices. As well, the floor wifi was generally good, too ... although several different connections depending on where you were.

And yes, the Resort Fee is waived if the room is comped, but you can still access the wifi.

Doesn't the Orleans have a resort fee? I always thought that wifi was included in the resort fee, you mean if you stay at the Orleans you have to pay a resort fee and an internet fee after the first day?

Wow, what a rip off, I always thought the reason for the resort fee was to get these things for "free". I wonder if that is the same policy at the GC?

Luckily the downtown Boyd hotels don't charge a resort fee so you just pay the internet fee (and no resort fee) if you want wifi access in your room.

So what do you get with your daily resort fee? (just being sarcastic).

Most places have a "basic" wifi that's included in the resort fee and the option to pay for higher speeds. Usually the basic is fine unless, as said above, you want to stream something. I stayed at the Orleans and had no issues with the basic wifi.

Ahhh, I understand now. The card was for the high speed wifi, not the basic wifi service.

Can someone provide clarification on the terms on the complementary, "for 24 hours." So let's say my stay is Sunday thru Wednesday, if I log on at 5:00 pm on Monday I'm taking it that it'll provide free access up until 4:59 pm on Tuesday. So if I try to get free access again at 8:00 pm on Tuesday night I will have already used up my free 24 hours access. Does that sound correct?

Or is the free 24 hours provided over increments, let's say I use it for 6 hours on Sunday, 6 hours on Monday, 6 hours on Tuesday, and 6 hours on Wednesday (6 hours x 4 uses = 24 hours)? It's a little confusing (lol).

    Thanks for the clarification but I'm even more confused now (lol). So you had logged in a few times over 4 days last week. That would lead me to believe this would be the way that it works;

Or is the free 24 hours provided over increments, let's say I use it for 6 hours on Sunday, 6 hours on Monday, 6 hours on Tuesday, and 6 hours on Wednesday (6 hours x 4 uses = 24 hours)?

Sounds like it is a complete 24 hour period so you can't use it for more than a 24 hour day (depending when you start your use).

It's 24 consecutive hours. After that you must log in again and agree to the terms of service. When you agree to the terms of service you start the 24 hr. clock over again.

They used to have free fast wifi at the coffee / pastry place near registration. Good place to wake up and post / read your iPad over phone. Is it still available?

Yes, there's free wifi thoughout most of the property, including at Java Cafe. A few different servers, but once you connect, it's automatic after that. You only have to pay for the in-room wifi via the Resort Fee.

Just stayed at orleans 2 months ago and was charged $15 for wifi when i was told it would be free with the resort fee. I asked the lady at the front desk why and she said you used more the 3 devices. I told her i did not and all the lady could do was say sorry and walked away.
