    Hello everybdoy

I´ve been lurking around here for a while and just decided to sign up and participate.

While I´ve been to Vegas before it´s been a while since my last visit. Just to give you an idea how long, City Center wasn´t around at the time, Encore wasn´t around, Wynn was pretty new I think.
Now I´m planning another visit for later this year and the more I read the more I get confused:confused2:

I kinda have myself narrowed down to the Bellagio, City Center Area. I´m looking at an uspcale place, likely want a Suite but it´s not like Money doesn´t matter, so there is a Budget of ~350-400 max. a night.

A great view of the Strip and if possible the fountains would be something I want too. I know I´m asking a lot.

I have a Vdara Panoramic Suite booked, but now I´m second guessing if I´d do better with a One bedroom Penthouse Suite.
Bellagio Suite isn´t totally out, but from the Pictures I think I might like the interior design and huge Windows of Vdara better. Another one is Cosmo Terrace Studio (the Suite breaks the bank).

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. There seems not be much talk about the Vdara on here. I know it has no Casino on site, but that´s not going to be a biggie to me, as while I will do some gambling I´m not a serious Gambler by any means (hope that´s not offensive to say here).

I guess one of my main questions is, which Suite gives me better views the Panoramic or the One bedroom Penthouse?

Thanks for the help and being patient with a newbie.

without a doubt, i would go with the Cosmo Terrace.

much better locations, much better views....this is our room of choice now. it has a sectional couch, kitchenette and a terrace for your price range, so even though its not a suite, it has the characteristics of a suite we use, the sitting area and drink prep area/fridge.

its not cheap for the size, but it is a great value for the amenities, finishes, and location.

Many - maybe most suites at Bellagio do NOT have a fountain view. So, it depends on how important a suite vs view means to you. And, money.

    Cosmo is a great option.

The suites at the Bellagio I looked at are the Bellagio Fountain View or Premium Fountain View. But then they seem to be slightly more than Penthouse at Vdara.

Looks like Cosmo has two votes already.

Anything wrong with Vdara, as it´s not mentioned and seems to be priced lower than all the surrounding places?

Thanks for the replies so far, keep them coming.

Paris Premium would give you fountain view, and likely be way less

I would agree with this. Folks often gravitate towards Bellagio as they want to do the "best". Paris can still give you a great deal.

There is a reason Paris cost less than Cosmo.

Another vote for the Cosmo, any room with a terrace and a fountain room there will be fantastic.

If the view is more important than the room go with a Cosmo Terrace.
If the room(suite)is more important you can get an Aria Corner Suite for roughly the same price.
The Aria corner is a much nicer room option and a real suite, although you will not get the fountain view.
I recently posted a comparison that gave my plus and minus of both options.

Among the three choices I've stayed at (I have not stayed at Vdara), a Cosmo Terrace Studio is the room I would always select if prices were relatively close (within $50-$75/ per night between Cosmopolitan, Aria and Bellagio).

I had a room on a mid/lower level floor in a Cosmo Terrace room (2313) with excellent views of the fountains and rest of the strip. I also like being able to exit right onto the strip from the Cosmo (Bellagio is further through the shops or walkway, Aria is 15-20 minutes from strip civilization and Vdara is the furthest. Both of my stays have been in summer (June and August), and I was able to enjoy a nice morning / night breeze on the balcony. The sun is shines on the other side of the building (facing City Center).

I've stayed twice at Aria, and while the rooms were nice, if the room wasn't comped I'd rather have paid to stay at Wynn/Encore or The Cosmopolitan.

You'll get hit with noise from the nightclub Hyde in Bellagio rooms. Among the three rooms you are considering, a standard Bellagio room (regardless of view) is the least impressive.

I also like staying at the Wynn/Encore, but it sounds like you rather stay at center strip.

Vdara is a great choice. I don't know how much better the view is in the panoramic and the penthouse rooms versus the city corner rooms. I stayed in a regular CityCorner and it was fantastic, I could see the fountains and everything. I would guess it's just a better view up higher... but the rooms are the same I believe.

Cosmo could be nice too, but it's always just extremely overpriced. Vdara would be a better value. Also if it's 105º when you go, I'm not sure how enjoyable it would be to have a terrace.

I don't think you need to stay at Bellagio to get the view..

Go with Cosmo, whats not to like? Great room, location and much better views then u get at the other city center properties. Also look into if u can find a deal on their terrace suites, they all have awesome fountain views so u dont have to pay extra for that, otherwise the studio terrace is very nice as well.

Thanks for all the helpful comments.

It Looks like Cosmo is a good choice and preferred by many here. However as Budget is something to look at as well I made the decision for the Penthouse at Vdara.

Of course it still can Change, but when Prices Change, but for now I got a good Vdara offer through mlife.

    Thanks again.

it always amuses me that a lot of the best views of the Bellagio fountains are actually from the non-mLife properties across the street. you can see the fountains perfectly from strip-side rooms at paris and Planet Hollywood and probably from some of the rooms at Bally's and Flamingo too. caesars' augustus tower offers fountain views. Cosmo plays it up too, for sure. don't think you'd be assured of a comparable fountain view from any of MGM's CityCenter hotels, including Vdara.

by the way, Paris takes particular advantage of its fountain view location at some of its restaurants, including the patio seating at Mon Ami Gabi and the elevated view from the Eiffel Tower restaurant. even if you don't like CET properties, both of those restaurants are worth a stop if a fountain-view meal is important but you don't want to pay Bellagio's gourmet dining prices.

I'll put my vote in for Vdara. We loved the place and I think it is in a great location. You are about 5 - 10 minute walk to anything in that area.

We really liked that we weren't walking for miles just to get into or out of the hotel.

We had an executive corner suite and had an excellent view of the fountains.

Planning a trip in two weeks and we really wanted to stay at Vdara again but the prices are sky high so I think we'll end up going with Priceline or Hotwire 5* and just get what we get.

So +1 for Vdara from me.

Make sure you request a fountain view, as some of the penthouses at Vdara face the other direction.

true those views are better than nothing, but none of those beat the view from a high level Bellagio suite dead center on the fountains. especially with the music through the TV.
