We tossed the idea of going to other locations for vacation but the hotel prices range from $120 to $350 a night.
With Vegas not only are our rooms free but so is the food.
Yet people still don't get it.

Without being too formulaic, vacation planning is a cost-benefit analysis: I want to do x, for y, and I can get it by going to z. We don't avoid other places because a similar accomm in Vegas might cost less if that's a place we want to experience. For us the bottom line is not always $$-expended vs. the $ we could expend somewhere else. And we do get it. When we want to go to Vegas, well, we want to go to Vegas, and gain the benefits that come with going to Vegas. When we want to go other places, we go other places, and benefit from those experiences, accordingly.

We have friends who don't gamble a cent, and they love Vegas. We have other friends who travel widely and could care less when they next go to Vegas.
