    My Trip Report

Last Monday afternoon my wife and I decided to go to the Gold Strike just across the state line for one night. It took all of 30 minutes to get our stuff together and leave. It rained all the way from our house in So. Cal. to the border. Played for about six hours and lost very little went to bed and decided to go into Vegas for one night at the El Cortez.
The EC was a little nicer than the last time I was there about five years ago. Al, the craps tables were $3 minimum and 10X odds. Had a pretty good run on the BJ tables and the craps table. We ate that night at the coffee shop there and I have to say it was very bad. We both had the steak special at about midnight and the food was cold and the steak was very dry. They must have cooked those hours in advance. Told the waitress about it and she said “yeah I know.†We didn’t know what to say then.
The next day we went to the Plaza to stay ONE night because we had some money. We both lost pretty bad and went to leave in the morning. While walking across the casino floor the Casino Manager that I have know for years said, “what do you think that you are doing?†and I said we were heading home. He said no you are not. The road to Calif. is shutdown due to snow and I have already extended you for one more night. We then took our suitcases back up to the room and our luck changed to the better for the rest of the day and night. Ended up down for the four days but not by very much.
We went to the Main Street Station buffet twice and it was very good as usual. On our final night at about midnight we tried Chop Chops at the Plaza because someone told me that they had really improved the food and made it a 24hour place. All I can say is it was outstanding. The last time we went there it was terrible. We did not do breakfast there but now I am willing to give it another chance.
Mr. Barrick came around and talked to several people playing blackjack and he seems like a very nice person. He told us that we would soon be seeing a lot of changes around there for the better.
Our one niter turned into four and it was fun.

That's what I call personal service. I know that's something that would make me return to any casino/hotel [IMG]
