My next trip is coming up as per the timer below, and I have decided I am going to do one night downtown again like I did my last trip. Last trip I stayed at the Rush Towtrier in the Golden Nugget and really like that room. I did not have a positive experience at the GN, just thought for what I was paying the level of service was below par, up to having to file a dispute with my bank to get a double charge returned.

Having said that, I am finding decent rates at the Golden Gate and the D. Curious which one you would choose and why.

More than likely I will make the last night of my trip downtown, which would be Wed or Thurs night

I've never stayed at either but have double booked GG a couple of times to check out the rooms. They are small, but maybe OK for 1 person. Bathrooms are even smaller.

I have gambled at both and I prefer GG over D, just because I can't take the volume in the D at all hours of the day/night.

Thanks for the photos. I just will need a place to crash and bathrooms are not too important. Im not too keen on their high resort fees at these properties but for one night it maybe doable.

Forgot to mention...The noise from FSE can be an issue for some people depending on room location. At GG, south tower in the back are quietest.

Is that one of the new rooms or older ones?

Wanna, that is one of the GG's newer suites and not a standard room.

Golden Gate has very comfortable beds, but be aware - the standard rooms are the smallest in downtown. The bathroom size will actually make you chuckle. If you wish to smoke in your room, you will be on the second floor, and FSE noise will be an issue.
I love the Golden Gate, but I would have to recommend theD over them as far as rooms are concerned.

Seems like forever from now, but the flights are booked, so it counts!

D rooms are larger & more modern.

GG does not have loud music, but it does get "lively" at night.

DuPars is the only food venue at GG. I like it alright.

The D has Andiamos, D Grille & American Coney. IMHO, all 3 were GREAT, and I really enjoyed their proximity.

You will probably have a great time at either place!
