I have played a $25 slot machine before. My biggest hit was $500 and I left it down $200, but look at this sucker.

You could do some damage with that. Anyone else play these monsters?

Play one? I doubt the casinos I go in even have one. I'm trying to figure out how people would feed it. It would take 50 bills to cover one pull.

To play you would go to the casino cage or the high limit room and they can take the money right from your bank account or credit limit, or even cash, and give you high denomination TITO tickets.

Seems to me that if you are at that point in your life then does the dollar amount really count anymore?

If the dollar amount no longer matters, why not just play a smaller, funner denomination machine.

Guess there are some things i will never understand.

I'm imagining some younger "kids" who have some of daddy's money and go on a blackjack or craps run and then decide to do 1 pull of the $5k slot machine hoping for a big score. Imagine the letdown if you put exactly $5k and got 1 spin for nothing. Stomach punch

I always enjoy playing in the Wynn high limit room. In addition to being a very pleasant space to be in and having great drink service, you get to see a lot of money. It’s just insane how many people you see playing several $100 (and up) slot machines at once. (Of course they have to play several at once as they hit a hand pay about every minute or two.)

Last trip I hit my first aces with kicker on a $5 DDB machine in the Wynn HL room. I saw the machine flash $10,000 and I jumped up and did a fist pump, maybe even a little dance…I must have been grinning like a fool. Then I look around and realize that half the people in that room are probably thinking, “aww, how cute”.

The carve, we were. Just kidding. Ten grand is a nice hit. I bet there were a few of them that we're envious. I've been told not everyone wins.

If I nailed a huge score and was sufficiently plied with alcohol I could see me and my best friend taking a one or two shot spin.

But I don't know...I get nervous just thinking about it

I don't get it either .... I don't even really like playing $1 machines .... part of the fun is seeing just how much you can win off the lowest bet ... hubs won $800 in Blackhawk off .40 .... that was fun!!!

There's a solid argument for doing something like a single spin or single hand at very high stakes. It increases the chance you will lose it all but when you hit it will be awesome.

About a year ago I was in the high limit room at Bellagio when a guy my age - late 50's - and his host walked up to a $1000 machine. After he put his ticket in I could see 20 credits - $20,000. Ten 2 credit spins later it was gone! No even a cherry! The guy was devastated. He walked away with the host. Whole episode under two minutes. Something tells me he gets better room offers than I do. Or maybe not, I played for hours in there on an initial $100.

What's also got to be annoying about these is: tax liability for every win...

If he was that devastated he should not have been playing those stakes.

A lot of people assume because the high denomination machines have higher payback percentages that it translates to better chance to win, but it doesn't. The guy probably only had a 1 in 11 to a 1 in 20 chance of actually hitting anything, even a single cherry.

$10,000 for just one Cherry. That is funny. So used to only getting maybe $2. Of course I am not betting $5K a spin and doubt I ever will but hope to have enough money to one day give it a try.

Ummmm, that would be my whole bankroll for the trip. Well I would have to borrow a grand from the Bf, but yea...my whole bankroll right there. Now what to do with the other 5 days, 23 hours, and 59 minutes of my trip? LOL:grrr:
