An article about Todd English in one of the Boston papers indicated that Olives in LV is closing...any news about that from LV?

i know a lot of people loved that place. I thought it sucked. I ate there once on a comp with a large group and we were all kinda hung over and drank out from the pool and the waiter was a real dick about us not ordering wine.

These sort of places are just contracted to be there. i would assume that the cost of doing business in such a prime location is sky high. Come contract renewal time they just opted not to. Happens all the time.

Its not a reflection on the economy or the food or any other thing, its just a business decision.

I dont think they will be walling that space off and turning it into storage anytime soon.

The closing has been mentioned here before. I went there once and thought it was okay but nothing amazing. They over cooked my salmon.

I have always thought it was very average, and attributed the crowds to the great location. It will be interesting to see what goes in there.

I have eaten there several times and found it to be very good. To each his own I guess.

I thought Olives was ok, but location is top notch. Someone needs to go to mgmt school if they couldn't make it a go.

Olives is back. It's been announced that Todd English and Bellagio have come to an agreement. I don't know if any changes are planned, but the name remains, as does the business connection with Todd English (not that he was ever around much).
