Ok I decided that 2 weeks wasn't enough time to drive to Las Vegas by myself so I'm flying in Sept. 9th till the 17th. I really want to rent a car and drive to Laughlin but I'm scared to death! And what the hell is up with the hotel rates for the 14th? I still have to book something from the 14th till the 17th. I'm doing this trip as a 60yr old recent widow so bear with me please!

Don't be scared of the drive to Laughlin. It is a simple, straight forward drive. The last time I did it, I left before sun up, and the sunrise was beautiful from the road out in the middle of no where.

If you don't mind staying downtown, the Plaza has rooms for $40 a night on Hotwire for those days. It is the only hotel on hotwire downtown with a pool and fitness center that charges a $10 resort fee.

With the Mayweather fight on the 14th, you might want to consider staying a night out in Laughlin. Might be substantially cheaper if you have a rental car to just head out there and stay a night than anywhere on the strip. I feel like a previous post said Hooters and the Best Western Casino Royale were like $190, maybe?

One of our other posters, Dewey, just recently posted about a bus you can take to Laughlin for around 5 dollars. So if you still don't want to drive, that is also an option out there.

Have fun that gives you a nice amount of time to be there. Maybe Kathy and I will run into you 9/9 to 9/13.
