    Hello,

I am staying at the Downtown Grand for a couple of nights this week on an offer the DTG calls "Drive, Stay, Play." Part of the offer says that if you bring in your gas receipt, the DTG will "reimburse" you that amount in free play (up to $100).

The problem is I don't own a car, so I almost never buy gas. I'll be flying in to Vegas.

What would you do to obtain a gas receipt if you were in this situation? Obviously I'd like to get a receipt for as close to $100 as possible, but anything is better than nothing. Should I just hit up a couple of gas stations and see if I can find a gas receipt on the ground? It'd probably be quite odd to walk up to someone and ask them for their receipt.

I wouldn't do it if it wasn't my gas receipt personally.

Well. I guess if they don't specify it has to be your receipt, just hang out at a gas station and ask a trucker for one? Is assume if it's over $100, they'd still take it and just give you $100.

Ethics yo. But that aside, I would think you could find some receipts on the ground occasionally, or you could get a trucker to give you one possibly, but he/she may also need that receipt for records.

Dang, if you had brought this up sooner I could have sent you one. It costs me $75 to fill up the Envoy.

Go hang out by either the AmPm by ElCo or the Chevron on Main Street..I'm sure SOMEONE would be willing to give you a receipt.
If you want max value, watch for SUV's to gas-up, then ask them..or vulture and when they leave, see if the pump is still at the "PRINT RECEIPT?" screen...

Wait for an SUV to fill up for at least $100 and if they take their printed receipt then go inside and give the clerk the pump number and tell them your receipt didn't print out and BINGO, They will give you a copy.

I'd call the grand and see if you can be switched to the airfare reimbursement offer. Let them know your not driving to town and I'm fairly certain they would switch your offer. They are hurting for business and are getting very aggressive with offers. They threw two rooms at me for a Saturday night without asking about my level of play and I got the $100 airfare offer (and another offer) a couple of weeks ago. Just give them a call and see what happens.

This way you are on the level with the casino and your not creeping around some gas station waiting on some strangers receipt.

OK Jimbo, we all like a deal or freebie, but how much time are you willing to waste on this venture,
I do like the suggestion of calling DTG and inquiring about airfare.
