Got an E-mail offer for NYNY. Two comped nights during our trip and the third for only $49. I have never stayed at MGM props before, strictly a CET gal. Thinking I cant pass this up though. Even with resort fees, this will be cheaper than paying for the extra three days with CET. (I am comped for 5 nights everywhere but Ceasars.) We planned an 8 night trip. The BF is gold and has to pay resort fees so using his card is even more expensive than mine for those pesky extra days. What can you tell me about NYNY. He is a big pool snob, and I cant find any good pics of the pool there. How about the rooms?

We stayed at NYNY a few times and really liked it.
The only reason we don't any more is because CET started giving us much better offers.

Not sure of the pool as we never used it.
We liked that every time we stayed it was simple and quick access to/from the casino to/from the room to/from the street.

There are also a great variety of food and places to eat.

There are also a great variety of slot machines.

It is simple and quick access to Excalibur and MGM as well as Monte Carlo. So if NYNY doesn't have the game or place to eat you want you should be able to find it without having to go too far.

The pool at NYNY is just a pool, nothing fancy. It is somewhat sandwiched between the hotel and the parking garage.

The casino is excellent, one of my favorites in Vegas. I also really like the restaurant selection there and the cocktail service has always been good as well. The sports book is just so so. Unfortunately, so is the pool. The pool is more of a Holiday Inn type pool than a Vegas pool.

My wife is a pool snob too. The NYNY pool is just average. We also get a cabana at the pool for at least a couple of days. Last year, we weren't pleased w/ the cabana or service (it was better in previous years). So, while I was working, my wife booked a cabana at Paris, which proved to be a much better value and experience for her. The Paris pool is bigger, although the water is colder, the cabanas / villas are great and not as expensive either.

Also, I like NYNY casino, although I lost ALOT their last year. The restaurants are a mixed bag. I really like Gallaghers & Il Fornaio while I've had less than positives experiences at Gonzalez Y Gonzalez & Chin Chin. America is ok for breakfast. They had a good NY Strip & Crab Legs special last year for like $14.99. It was good.

If the pool is your main consideration, you'd do well to try somewhere other than NYNY. MGM and Monte Carlo both have better pools, and are both right in the same area.

NYNY is my favorite casino in Vegas. I love NY village theme and the casino has a fun atmosphere. As for the hotel, I've stayed here twice and I'm not much of a fan. The rooms are fine but if your room is away from the elevator, you can walk a long time before you get to your room. Same can be said for other Vegas hotels but I walk here seemed a lot longer.
If pool is important to you, I wouldn't stay here. Its very small and the skyscrapers block the sun parts of the day. I would stay at the MGM Grand or Mirage instead.
All in all, I would say the casino is one of the best but the hotel isn't anything special.

Agreed 100%. I'm not a huge fan of the NYNY property overall -- though I do love the casino, the basic rooms aren't great and I don't really love the dining options -- but I think it's fair to say that the pool is objectively "okay" at best. The best pools in the MGM portfolio are, in my opinion, Mandalay Bay, Mirage, and MGM Grand (although I know some people consider the latter complex to be overwhelmingly huge).

Stayed at NYNY my last Vegas trip and I liked it. The casino is not too large but it was fun with some decent min bet tables. I stayed in a Park Avenue room and our view was very nice and the room, while not big, it was clean, modern, and very comfortable. I can't comment on the pool since it was March and the pool was closed. Ate at the Sporting House to watch a lot of hockey a few times. Good food and good atmosphere.

If you are looking for luxury a la Wynn/Encore, this isn't it. But it is a lot of fun, with a great vibe, comfortable, and in a good location. I'd take that offer and enjoy the ride.

I booked the offer. It will be nice to try something different. I also have some rewards I am buying on My Vegas, so it will be a relatively cheap three days. Already booked the picnic by the pool at Monte Carlo, two dinner buffets at Mandalay, and two lunch buffets at Aria. The bf and I each still have one other freebee to use so I am waiting to see what pops up between now and then.

It will be easier to use them since we are staying at that end of the strip anyway now.

Even though you booked the offer I would call a host at Monte Carlo and MGM and ask if they will match the offer.
It's worth a try as either pool is far superior to NYNY.
