    My Trip Report

I was cleaning up my laptop and came across some photos from our 2009/2010 NYE trip that I never shared, so here they are!

No trip report to go along with the pictures. We were in Las Vegas for Dec 29 to Jan 5, spending 2 nights at Golden Nugget, 3 at Harrah's and then 2 at Monte Carlo

The pictures aren't the best as I had the camera for just a couple of days so wasn't yet used to all its features

The pictures where very good and thanks for sharing.

I can see why people are saying that Aria's casino is so dark from your pictures.

I think I left out about 125 more pictures that didn't turn out too well :)

We didn't go to Aria on our last trip at the end of June but supposedly they were working towards brightening the place up. But I can say that I didn't mind it being so dark... just gives the place a different mood and feeling compared to a bright and well lit casino.

We were out front of Imperial Palace for the fireworks show and it was pretty much shoulder to shoulder people as far as the eye could see.

And thats pretty much how the whole weekend was:
    - there were long lines to get in to any restaurant
    - you couldn't really pick a slot or VP machine to play - you had to just take whatever was open because most machines were full and had people milling about waiting for an opening
    - most table games had 5-7 people waiting in line to play
    - at Harrah's around 1AM there was a 200+ person line just to get to the elevators up to the room

For anybody going to Vegas for New Years Eve my biggest recommendation would be to get out 30-45 minutes early for the fireworks. In the photos you can see the barricades set up along The Strip and there are all these bottlenecks where people have to bunch up to get beyond the barricades and on to the street. And pretty much at 11:50 everybody left in the casinos decided to come out at once so you have thousands of more people with a "if the crowd isn't moving you aren't pushing hard enough" mentality.

Despite all that I'll still say it was all pretty good overall being in Las Vegas for New Years Eve. That its a Friday this year is probably going to make it even busier.

Great pix! I especially like the pix of Aria...personally, I think it looks amazing. I can't wait to see it in person!

Awesome pics. They really make me want to be there RIGHT NOW.

Your comments about the crowds just reaffirm that Vegas is not for me on NYE. I am a grumpy old man in a 39 year old body, though!

BTW what program did you use to create that album. I really like it.

I made the gallery with Photoshop.

Makes it easy: you just need to pick folder with the pictures, how you want the navigation and what sizes you want for the thumbnails and pictures and it does the rest automatically.
