I won the last three bets I made on them, including this mornings game at -8, and the last two were the only bets I made on the NFL each weekend (I'm still figuring out the teams).

But this weekend presented an unusual line drop from -13 to -8 according to the lines posted at the Vegas Insider website. I couldn't figure the reason other than early on the pros bet the Browns at +13 and kept on betting down to +8 (the final was Browns 27 Giants 41, they missed it by that much).

Pros like to bet early before line changes, but this case presented a large enough change that I thought it presented a good opportunity betting the Giants.

Next week is a week where I would more likely bet against the Giants, who are facing a tough 49er defense, or stay away from the game altogether.

However, giving up 3 points may be a steal, if betting the 49ers. I'm wondering if this will be another line change situation that will move the line to 49ers -4 or more.

    Cheers,

    Cosmo

The G-men are such a tough team to bet with, largely because you don't know whether you'll get good-Eli or craptastic-Eli on any given day. They also have a penchant for keeping the score close, which is why Browns +13 seemed like an easy bet. Honestly, had they not gone down 14 points in the first 8 minutes, I'm willing to bet Gilbride would have made the play calls a bunch more conservative such that the Giants won by 10.

As much as I love my men in blue, I would take SF -3, but not any more. I wouldn't be surprised if the score ends up 24-20.

Line is SF -6. I have no opinion on it -- I think I'd just stay away.

Think the problem with the Jints was that they were all banged up. Injries to WR, LB amd secondary contributed to the line drop.

The Giants are a great team, they just find a way to win.

That said, I was ready to place a small bet against them at -6.5 in the 49er game. When the line moved to -7, I wanted to bet with the Giants, but only a small bet, but since I had a distance to go to place my bet, I decided to sit this weekend out. I was going to small bet Miami and Houston too, so I saved money.

On paper I thought the 49ers would cover the spread - Giants had an arms length list of injuries, were ranked lower in defense, Giants were visiting, the 49ers had two leading tacklers, even the football analysts were unanimous in predicting a 49er win.

Maybe I should just bet with the Giants until I lose a bet.

I have been a giant fan since 67 when i was 7 and there is NO WAY ANYONE could have expected THAT!! I thought they had a shot to win a REAL nail biter.
Now onto the Skins THIS week.....A VERY curious game. They owe the Skins BIG time( from last year) but sometimes they can get a REAL slow start at home and in most times come back like gangbusters. RG3 presents an interesting preposition. Giants HAVE to win this game...........absolutely CANNOT, i do mean CANNOT CANNOT CANNOT lose this game and go 0-3 in the division, because that will come back BIG TIME to bite them in the @$$ down th e road. Early prediction 34-28 Giants in an absolute CIRCUS.

I bet the Giants again at -6, I almost got -5.5 but the line changed by the time I got to the window.

I hope my Giants = ATM theory works out this year.

    Cheers All.

My bf lost $1200 on that game thursday night. He got a push on a 4 teamer. Would have been $2400. Now down to $1200 3 teamer. I thought he was going to have a aneurism during that game. Who doesn't take points??? No thank you, I dont want to be up by 9 points with 43 seconds left and receiving the ball. I'm good. Christ, I am a casual fan and even I was stunned with the dumbness of the san fran coach. I think vegas made a call. None of the san fran bets got covered. Who says the NFL isn't fixed. Don't take san fran. The coach is a dumbass. :)

That was the most insane pure gambling incident that I can recall in a long time. He was lucky to get the push. Most people had to lay 7 1/2 and got a loss.

The NYG-WAS game was a great game to watch, even though I lost my bet. I'm still 3-1 (I did not bet the SF game), so I'm going to bet blind on NYG one more time to keep the NY ATM dream alive.

I have to wait until Tuesday since the closest sports book is in 1.25 hours away in TJ, and they don't post lines until Tuesday morning.

RG3 played great and the guy is for real. I remember the touch on the TD pass to Moss in the left end zone.

But as I said before the Giants find a way to win, though coach Coughlin looked like he was going to have an aneurism several times after each Giant turn over.

The Giants and the Broncos are my favorite teams to watch this year. What can I say, I live in the LA/OC metro area, we have no NFL football teams - they all left town years ago.

    Cheers,

    Cosmo

The Sportbook nearest So Cal is Caliente in Tijuana Mexico, I also made some bets when I was in Vegas recent weekends. Caliente uses the same service as the books in Vegas, but have an additional 4% tax on winnings. They also open lines for betting on Tuesday instead of Monday. They can take large action, so if one is inclined to wager $20k on each side, $5k on over/unders, and $50k on futures, you can do so.

And Yes TJ is safe in the areas the Sportbooks are in, but I definitely prefer Vegas Sportsbooks.

Currently the line is -1.5 at Caliente.

I'll be in Miami this weekend, so if anyone knows of a Sportbook there, I'm listening.

    Cheers

This entire year has been strange. Anyone can beat anyone during any given game this season. If you had told me before the season that 7 games in the Vikings would have a better record than the Patriots I would have thought you were crazy

I left Vegas Tuesday 23rd, and the line was Pick 'em.....the night before during the MNF game it was -1 Cowboys.....jumped on it @ even the next morning but wish I had the 1 point cushion the night before.....I was flabbergasted.....the media / bookies / public still give the Cowboys so much credit. Yes it is a home game but they beat the NYG in the opener and it is a conference game which would be beneficial to the NYG and almost(?) put the last nail in the Cowboys as anything other than conference champions.....and Romo is actually good with receivers that sometimes (?) have the fingers of klutzy chicks with fresh nail polish.....but he is no RGIII....I like them even at even......

As a lifelong Cowboys fan, I will be putting my $ on the Giants Sunday. I'm really concerned that it may be worse than Giants by 3 in this game, it could be 10+ easily. The Cowboys took a huge hit with losing their middle linebacker and best tackler this week. Bradshaw is going to have a field day once Eli puts the defense on their heels. If this is a pick'em or a Cowboys favored for some reason Saturday when I get into town, I will be all over the Giants.
But hey, if I bet on the Giants the Cowboys will probably find a way to win the game!
