I won't post any spoilers. I just finished with the finale this morning.

I thought the show was great, but mis-categorized as a comedy. It is most definitely a drama.

Very compelling, very character oriented. Not just another medical show. I grew very attached to the characters.

I highly recommend Nurse Jackie to those who are looking for a binge-worthy half hour show.

So it's interesting, the whole "drama" vs. "comedy" thing has a lot to do with awards shows. My understanding is that 30-minute shows are now defaulted to the "comedy" category, but they can petition for inclusion as a drama; same with hour-long shows, which are defaulted to dramas. I remember reading that Shameless (which is at turns hilarious, and gut-wrenchingly depressing) had to get a special dispensation to be judged as a "comedy" last year. And I'm also pretty sure that when Nurse Jackie first started out, Edie Falco got offended for some reason at it being nominated as a "comedy" series.

Different than Weeds. Drugs are the central theme to both, but with Nurse Jackie, it's a look at how a functioning junkie manipulates people and situations to their own benefit.

Weeds was comical, Nurse Jackie has humorous moments, but is definitely a drama. 44 In A Row is correct, Edie Falco was not happy about the show being categorized as a Comedy, but she did accept the Emmy for it.

Meret Weaver (who also won an Emmy) and Ruby Jerins are superb in supporting roles. A very good supporting cast all around, actually.

Further little known story. The producer of BB (name?), saw Weeds after production on BB started. He said he never would have made BB if he had known about Weeds beforehand. I never at all understood this statement, since the two shows are very different from each other.

I could never understand why Elizabeth Perkins left. Her character was awesome.
