Hi, I am from Norfolk VA and I found this board a while ago and have been lurking here and there. I love reading the trip reports and getting ideas for things to see and do and places to eat. I love Las Vegas for the people watching and the gambling. I have been twice and September 8 will be my third trip and my husband's second. We will be staying at Bally's because they offered me a free room for 5 nights for the minimal amount of play I gave them in March (I know to never turn down free). I don't chase the comps but if they are willing to throw me a bone to increase my entertainment value I will take it!

Hi, Kleland! I live in Washington DC now, but I grew up in Newport News. My parents grew up in Ocean View in Norfolk, and my grandmother still lives there. Good memories. Welcome!

We are flying out of ORF, I hate driving to Richmond and then having to pay to park. I live just 5 miles from the airport and if I have to cab it it cost less than 10 bucks, but usually I can just get one of the kids to drop us off and pick us up. @DerbyCityGal....Me too! I keep reading trip reports and looking at questions in forums to look for different things to do. We are going to see Carrot Top and Absinthe and everything else is a play it by ear thing. The last two times I have been to vegas was only for 2 days at the most, this will be the longest and I am afraid of running out of things to do ( I know not likely to happen but that's how my brain works) and I don't want to sit at a table gambling too much!
