    Hi all,

Just wondering if you can point me in the right direction. My buddy and I are coming to Las Vegas later this year, we are both single and in our early 30´s and also are from the UK. We will be doing all the ususal Vegas stuff but would really like to get out there in the clubs at night. However I keep reading how pretentious and uptight some of the clubs are in Vegas. Anyone got any pointers for where we can go and have a good time, and not stand in line for hours to then be turned away. I am plenty willing to pay cover and wear the right clothes etc.

Also where are the best no cover lounges, something like Eyecandy at Mandalay Bay etc.

They aren't really any more pretentious than the top tier clubs over here (UK), but you won't get any of the dumps we know and love in the UK.

Stoney's rockin' country will probably suit you, I liked it -people were more concerned with having fun than looking good.

Blue Martini at Town Square is cool as well.

Both look great, especially the first one. Yeah you knew exactly the sort of places I mean we have in the UK. The dumps but we all love them on the weekend. Shame there are not more over there.

We have a total of 12 nights over ib LV WED-TUES and THURS-WED so will be looking all over for good places.

Never been to the UK but from previous clients they are used to more pubs than anything. Coyote ugly and Rockhouse are close to the strip, as well as nine fine irsishman. Downtown might be a little more your speed, east Fremont is 10 or so little bars that you can walk to and from. More relaxed than the strip.

Best advice for nightclubs on the strip, dress nice. Nice slacks, dress shoes and button up collared shirt is always best. Nice jeans are accepted, but club still can say yes or no. I tell clients simple suit and shirt and you still are dressed to impress.

haveng spent plenty of time in london if you can deal there top clubs and the private ones in your country and bullshit there doorman do there vegas will be easy as any one can buy your way into a vegas club and in london you cant.

ps there a club called saville row which is from london that might interest you.

now figure out your budget ,type of music and your nites. rember week nites only one or 2 clubs are open so it will be easy to choose on weekends you cant go wrong.

paperposter is correct, you will not be turned away.

Vegas clubs are not selective the way clubs in London or New York are. As long as you are dressed somewhat appropriately and willing to pay you will be allowed in, unlike the top clubs in other cities where you can still be turned away.

This is a big reason why Vegas is a more appropriate destination for groups of young guys from flyover country. If they went to a place like NY they may waste their entire night trying to get into clubs and failing.

You need to remember that Vegas caters to an inexperienced tourist crowd that changes week to week. The clubs do not set a high bar for entry like you are used to in London.

If you want casual places, here are some. Carnival Court at Harrahs, this is a dance place and so much fun, always busy. All the Piano bars are fun places to start off or even stay a whole night. Toby Keiths if you like country music. there is an 80's bar in the venetian, can't remember the name but it's a dance place and fun. Also Bond bar in Cosmo fun. Heart bar at Planet Hollywood. Margarittavile is a fun place to hang out for a few hours as well. I never go the the " fancy " places in Vegas but always have a good time at these types of places.

I was also going to suggest Carnival Court and Heart Bar. All of the places mentioned would be great for you.

If I read your posts correctly, my advice is you try one or two of the top bars. Much of the advice in this thread is what you see (appropriately) for the "45+ and not into the club scene" questions. Ignore that advice (Mandalay Bay Eyecandy, Carnival Court, Downtown, casino floor bars, etc...)

I'd spend the extra time and effort for a top vegas club. Tao can be cool. XS and Marquee is also hot now. The women in line at these clubs will be worth the hassle. :) The Palms clubs can be gotten into fairly easily these days, and are still not bad.

Some of the other mid-tier bars might also be fun for you if you want something more relaxed.

My only suggestion if you go to any of the top tier clubs would be to buy pre sale tickets so you don't have to wait in the general admission line.
