I thought my trip would be at the end of the NFR so I was surprised to realize it would be running the whole time I am there. No big, it looks like the only thing it will affect is my chance at a better car rental. Who's been there during NFR? I am curious if there are dining specials or other events worth taking advantage of. Keep in mind I don't drink beer!

I was out there during last years finals, during the latter weekend, and downtown had a few drink/dining specials, but I did not partake. Not many specials on the strip that I noticed. Not a beer drinker myself, but did not see any other drink specials for cocktails or such, but might be some dining specials running on the strip.

At the risk of being sexist (can you be sexist when you are a female?)......boots and hats and buckles, oh my. My favorite time to go thanks to those oh so very polite and handsome cowboys....:wink2:

And, sorry, but I don't know the answer to your question.

I was there last year for the last half of the Rodeo run. I had no idea the rodeo was going to be there until about a week or two before my trip. There was definitely some added buzz, but nothing too over the top. Lots of people certainly there for the finals, but as we know in Las Vegas, you see everything and everyone. Crown Royal was obviously a huge sponsor and had several "clubs" set up around the Strip, usually in the MGM props. Lots of whiskey specials too, but I might have only noticed that as my drink of choice in Vegas usually contains whiskey.

My first solo trip to Las Vegas was during the rodeo finals in the late 1990s. I was at the Riviera, attending a conference at the LVCC. I expected it to be a bit more rowdy that week, but the guys were perfect gentlemen. They were the type who would hold the door for you and such.

I don't remember any special deals or anything. The big thing I remember is that most casinos had C&W music on the sound systems. Yes, you would hear an occasional "Yee-Haw" coming from the craps table. :)

You can go to the website nfrexperience.com and this will give you some ideas as to what the 'happenings' around town will be. I know MGM is having drink and food specials....Crown Royal Black, Bacardi, Grey Goose - $5. I am sure all NFR Sponsor Hotels/Casinos will be having some sort of drink and/or food specials.
