How did everyone do on their futures bets for the 2014 NFL season? I remember seeing a few winners from looking at older posts like Denver under 12.5 games and Minnesota over 6 games. I know a lot of people placed Dallas at under 8 games, but did anyone bet Dallas at over 8 games? Chonglosaxon, the original poster who left the forum, was so adamant in his opinion that Dallas was going to win only 5 or 6 games.

I lost $1000 on the infamous Chonglosaxon Dallas smart and winning but actually losing bet.
I won $637 on the Number 1 seeded Patriots winning over 10.5 games.
    So net loss of $363.

    I'm sitting on a $100 9 - 1 Pats Super Bowl ticket.
I'll be watching the game, and hopefully the Pats, at Paris and cashing shortly thereafter.
    Ugly loss today though.

9-1. Nice. They will be at least 7 point favorites in their first playoff game. Will you be hedging?? The money line against the Pats should pay out nice if it hits.

I hate, hate, hate the idea of hedging this.

But while my heart says don't my pea brain says it might be the smart play.
Complicating my decision is this tix that I haven't cashed yet.
    picks 002.jpg

I put $200 on them vs San Diego then pressed it vs Miami the next week to get me the tix worth $763

My plan is to have a buddy who is in Vegas 1/14 press the whole tix on the Pats for the AFC title game, assuming they are still in.
If they win that I'll be there for the Superbowl with my 9-1 tix and a $1,450 tix that I might press one last time on the Pats.
That will give me a potential of $3,600 win on my $200 investment I have made on them this year.

Hedge....don't hedge????....I hope I have to make that decision.
I know when and if the time comes I'll be looking here for advice.

Your Patriots bet at 100 to collect 1000 is now worth 360, since the Pats are currently 5 to 2 odds to win the SB. This value will go up as they keep winning and the odds shorten.

    Buffalo OVER 6.5 -165 +400
    Detroit UNDER 8.5 -130 -650
    Kansas City UNDER 8.5 -185 -740
    New England UNDER 10.5 +160 -200
    Oakland UNDEr 4.5 +170 +510
    San Francisco UNDER 10.5 -135 +300
    Seattle UNDER 11 -125 -375
    Jacksonville OVER 4.5 -240 -960

So yeah, a brutal futures year, probably the worst I can remember from recent history. Still outstanding:

    GB/CIN SB +4,000 200/8,000
    GB/BAL SB +11,000 200/22,000
    GB/PIT SB +7,000 200/14,000
    GB/NE SB +1,000 500/5,000
    GB/DEN SB +700 500/3,500

I made these bets at various points of the season trying to create my own derivative of GB winning the NFC. I managed to get all five teams in the playoffs. Now I just have to get GB home. Easy, right?

Mine are small bets, but I had Dallas over 8 for $20 and Dallas to win the championship for $10 at 40-1.

I saw this graph yesterday. It hurts that two of my biggest losses (Dallas and Buffalo) were true outliers. Arghhh! :grrr:

Me too. I also took a beating on the Browns under. That one really stings because there were three games they had no business winning (New Orleans, Tennessee, and Atlanta). Admittedly, they probably should have won the first Baltimore game. But it still stings

Yep - especially that ATL game (one of the many Mike Smith time management blunders this year)! They probably should have won that Indy game too...I feel bad for Cleveland fans. I mean as a Philly fan I know disappointment but that city takes sports kicks in the nuts routinely.

Speaking of Indy, they've been ripe for the picking this year...playing in that trainwreck of a division saved their bacon - I am curious to see how they'll do in the playoffs.
