I am going the Vegas in August. We are staying at NYNY, it will be our first time staying there. We have had luck with the $20 trick at the Flamingo, but I hear that NYNY is very tough. Any one have any luck trying it?

I would also be curious to hear of anyones success at the NY NY.

Have a basic park ave rom booked for my first vegas trip in july but a high floor strip view would be a nice upgrade?

Has no one tried this at NYNY lately? We are going there in August and would like to know from someone who has given it a shot.

Tried it two weeks ago, no luck. Had such a horrible stay and room ( we had to switch three times due to faulty front doors and smoking when I booked nonsmoking) that we checked out after a night and went to the Cosmo.

Checked in late, definitely after midnight, was super tired and didn't nice that the room had a funky smell til the next morning. Finally discovered the source of the smell, puke on the bed spring!! Let the front desk know, they apologized but offered to simply clean it but the clerk seemed very skeptical like we were the onest that did it!

I sandwiched a $20 between my ID and CC and gave it a shot last Sunday for our five night stay at the NYNY.

She dropped the $20 on the counter and asked what it was for. I just said I was hoping for a nice view on a high floor and she replied she would see what she could do. We were checking in at around noon and she waived the early checkin fee and put us up on the 30th floor with a view of the strip. I thanked her and she said it was much appreciated as she took the bill. I was quite happy with the upgrade, especially after hearing it can be tough at that hotel.

It was my wife and I's first trip to Vegas. She was attending a conference at MGM so we figured we would give it a try being right across the street with a walkway between the two. I was very happy and impressed with the New York New York and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Has anyone tried this lately? Heading to Vegas on the 17th and staying at NYNY. Have a Park Ave Deluxe room booked, worth upgrading?

I'm more interested too in that if the $20 trick doesn't work do you get your $20 back...?
