Received a New Year's offer today for 4 nights at Bally's or The Quad Resort & Casino, Dec. 28 - Jan. 1st., and I had to research "The Quad" because I had never heard of it. Turns out that this is the new name for Imperial Palace. Does anyone know if the renovations will be complete by then? We were just there and it doesn't look anywhere near done on the outside but didn't go inside, so I'm not sure of the progress there.

Rebranding is December of this year.

I will state they were really moving along from when I was there in March to when I was there in September. In March it looked the same - by mid-summer I saw pics of the new checkin desk on the LVBlog. By September the old bathrooms (back right by the escalator to HHAGG) were closed & brand new ones (NICE!) were open by the daquiri bar place. I still have a very hard time buying it will be done by spring. However I am sure once structural plumbing etc is in and the old stuff (bathrooms) are out, then a lot of the rest of it is surface make-over. Should be in LV in a few weeks & will check to see what else has been spruced up already. When I was walking thru the front boarded up sections you could peek thru the doors when someone was opening them. That still looked pretty bare on the other side of the walls.

I would definitely choose Bally's. Not just will the Quad still be in the middle of their renovation, to my knowledge they don't have plans to do much of anything to the IP's rooms. The Quad might be a nice place to visit during New Years, but I wouldn't stay there.

You could check in at The Imperial Palace, check out from The Quad. Interesting.

Agreed, I don't think I'll stay there until they renovate the rooms.
